Yeah. So I was happy the Maker worked without any compatibility settings or anything, but I wasn't particularly happy to find games won't work. I can't even play test projects. When I click the green play button (or try to play from the explorer), I get that "RGSS Player has stopped working" error. I've tried everything, I set the compatibility to all versions of Windows, in the game's settings as well as the Maker's, I ran it as administrator. But it won't work.

So what can I do? Searching here didn't help at all, as you can't search for windows 7 because of the 7. Google didn't help either since no one but me seems to have the problem.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. o.o

Edit: I have the Home version of Windows (more like faildows. Ha!) 7, btw. 64-bit.

Right click game.exe go in to properties, compatibility then run as Windows XP SP3 if you are running other then Windows Home Edition.
Get back to me once you try that.

Windows 7 is setup differently, I can vouch that it'll work with 64 bit and windows 7 ultimate, but I can't with home.

This is probably a no-brainer, but do you have the RTP installed? You need that to play games...

That's odd I have a friend who (I believe) uses Windows 7 and has no problem running it.

Windows 7 Home Edition (64 bit) here and I have no issues whatsoever with running XP. 2K3 on the other hand...

I think I do have the RTP installed. xD If I didn't, wouldn't I be not able to use it in the Maker?
Maybe it's the Maker itself then, not the OS. But it should work because I just bought it on ebay a week ago.

Edit: By the way, it says "Fault module name: RGSS100J.dll_unloaded" on the error message when it crashes. I heard that might say what the problem is. Anyone have an idea?

Edit II: I fixed it. The problem is that for whatever stupid reason, Windows 7 doesn't seem to work with RGSS100J.dll. So what I did was change the game.ini where it said Library=RGSS100J.dll to Library=RGSS102E.dll, and now it works. What I'm afraid of, however, is that I might be the only one able to play the game now, so if I ever decide to give the stuff to anyone or host it on the web, what if no one else can play it?
But whatever, that's probably not going to happen for the next months anyway, so I'll worry about that later.

Thanks for the help anyway.

Excuse the double post, but I figured I'd let you know the maker messed itself up for me again. It won't work anymore and the music system didn't work at all, so I gave it away to a friend and bought the VX instead after trying it via trial version for a while. Lmao.

Actually, you can close or delete or whatever this thread. Just don't kick my butt for wasting your time please. xD Thanks.
