I've posted some of my poems on other forums, but most are just saved to my hard drive doing nothing but collecting data dustbunnies, so I'd like to share. As of yet I don't have anything else to offer the community - however once my project is complete I'll be releasing a crap ton of sprites happy.gif
Anyways, I'll update this every few days or so with a new poem until I don't have anything else to post until I write something new. Generally my poetry style is 'dark' as is with the rest of my creative ventures. So, read on and please feel free to comment.

*EDIT*
Updated topic, all my poems are now within this spoiler - beware, it's very long.
Enjoy biggrin.gif

Undefined

Social cliche's define and confine us,
Chasing the next person
Who's chasing the one who came before.
A line of sheep herded towards oblivion,
None aware of what they're doing
Or where they're going; just follow and be followed,
In this maze of life with its sudden turns
And dead ends - yet so many possible outcomes.
You can't see past your own noses;
Where do you end, and the next one begin?
Invisible walls surround us.
Containing us in this box of society
That constantly warps and changes,
Metamorphs and contorts; survival of the fittest.
This is what we are and who we will be.
So 'they' say.
Who are 'they'?
Does anyone really know.
What gives them the right to choose
Who I will be, or who I will become?
Will you let them win,
Let them stamp a label on your forehead
And paste a code across your ass?
Give up before the battle has even begun.

Goth, emo, punk, rocker, anarchist,
Scrub, wigger, loser, nihilist, prep,
Hippy, nobody, extremist, fag,
Nerd, poet, jock, philosopher,
Left wing, right wing, Liberal, Conservative -
We're all lab rats,
The result of someone else's experiment;
A little bit of this
And a dash of that.
I am who I am, nothing more and nothing less.
I constantly re-create myself
Trying something new, expanding, growing.
Am I flake?
Am I a poser?
Maybe.
But I'll always be for real.

Eventually we all end up in the same place.
Yet another box.
Another confined space.
Buried in the ground, constricted, suffocated.
Until we return to whence we came;
Mother Earth.
Sweet kiss of death touches our lips
Frees us from the restraints
Of our physical bodies; living prisons.
Designed especially for their owner.
No other is like it
And never will be again.
Fear not the inevitable
It will happen to us all eventually.
How, is the question.

Cypher

Written 2007

He loves me
But I love him not.
Distance seperates us,
This cold screen brings us together.
Our only means of communicating,
Crackles along tepid wires
Spewing from a receiver;
The mechanical manifestation
Of our voices.
Emotions dissolve
In a series of keystrokes
Delivering a pandemonium
Of delayed reaction.
Critisism abound;
How can you love
Through a computer?
Having met only once;
The whispers of memory
Tantalize the flesh.

A confession.
So true as not to be denied;
Like stating the sun rises and sets each day.

Yet why is it
I don't feel the same?
That which I crave,
Bears a flavour
That does not satisfy my tastebuds.
Bittersweet or sour.
Tangy, but still missing something;
That which I can't seem to find.
The rabbit
That outsmarts the fox.
Always within reach
But unable to grasp.
This person I am
Isn't me.
A facade of reality
In an overused costume,
For the puppet
That dances so prettily,
For the audience that scorns
The beauty hidden within.

I'm not normal.
I'm not what she thought I would be.
I'm just me.

Confused, abused
Pushed this way
And pulled back.
Longing to go this way,
But locked inside this gilded cage
With invisible bars.
I'm the selfish one.
The one who surrenders
Every cent to support,
The one sewing patch after patch,
So I may clothe my back.
I'm the ignoramous
The pig; lazy and filthy.
Wallowing in a pit
Of shattered promises,
A broken past,
And a fading future.

Hope shines at the end of a pencil,
Screams from the keyboard,
My only outlet.

Bound in these proverbial chains,
Ripping one off
Two more take its place.
Holding tight; a death grip
Rapes the essence
That feeds my thoughts.
To become what?
Another zombie
That envisions the house
With a picket fence,
Slaving away daily,
So the governmental sloths
Can feed their bottomless bellies,
Grow rich and fat
From our labors.
Until the rot
That fills our bodies
Annihilates the living tissue,
Delivering us to eternity.
The final escape.

Untitled

Split lip and a broken phone,
Good times, but a shattered home.
Creative drive,
Keeps dreams alive.
Mountains from mole hills,
For your cheap thrills.
Blood from bone,
My life is my own.

Numb

Written 2007

I can feel myself slipping
Falling away from reality;
Watching the world crumble
Underneath my fingertips.
Like ripples on the water
My chaos spreads like a disease;
Everything I touch
Turns to dust before my eyes.
Oblivious to those around me
It hides in the mirror of my soul;
Reflected only to the few
Who understand its' strange language.
Devouring my energy
Draining away my life
Tossed aside like used tissue;
Abandoned in a dank gutter
Alone for eternity.
Each day another piece dies
Stripped away by those I called friends, lovers;
Family.

Torment

Written 2006

Shadows of many years ago
Flicker in my mind.
Behind that bathroom door
My worst nightmare -
Haunting me through time.
I thought it was gone.
Sealed away
In my memory.
Safe. Hidden.
For no one to see.
I can't get his scent off me
A phantom in my flesh.
Innocense lost.
Stolen, never to be returned.
Is it really over
Or has it only just begun.

Barbie Wannabes

Written 2003 in Mrs. Staley's Creative Writing Class

The way you act and the sound of your voice,
Makes a chill run down my spine.
You're annoying as a cat in heat;
Like nails on a chalkboard,,
Or smashing my thumb with a hammer.
Like the itch on my back I just can't reach,
You're aggrivating and thick headed.
Talking to you is like talking to a pillow,
Easy to manipulate and feathers for brains.
You're as smart as a goldfish and as funny
As a cry for Help.
Dense as a drunk
And as fake as a Barbie Doll.

- Jade Dye

Linger

Written 08/04/09

Old grudges fester,
Sprouting seeds of anger
That dig deeper,
Hiding in the darkest crevass
Of memory.
Biding their time.

Why can't we just leave
The past in the past?
Move on and
Welcome a new day;
A new friend,
A new lover.

This life is fleeting
Passing us by.
Too short for petty arguements
Bridge the gaps;
Forget, or be forgotten.

Daddy's Girl

July 22, 2009

Digital princess
High on your pedestal.
With tearstained cheeks
You weep for that which
You've never known,
Nor possessed.
How is it you claim
To know the truth of lies?
Force-fed a diet of vanity
Served on a tarnished spoon;
Delivered by a demented reality,
Of a false society
To which you readily serve
And obey; submit.
For what point and purpose
Do you sacrifice your soul
To the greedy peasants
You don't give a damn about.
A fashionable mess.
Scorn the mirror,
For it only reflects
That which you refuse to see.
Ignore the voice,
For it only speaks
The truth which you deny.

Frustration

Written 2004

Twisting my words
You missunderstand;
Winding them into a tight knot.
How is it that you can't grasp
What I'm saying?
Am I speaking jibberish?
Somewhere my true meaning
Was lost in translation.
Dictating my feelings,
And putting words in my mouth.
You assume too much.
Speaking my mind never works;
Me: I'm hard to understand.
Myself: is complicated.
And I: can't figure out where I'm going.
Flapping about like a mother Hen
Squawking in my ears,
Holding a safety net
To catch me when I fall.
Distracting, irritating, confusing -
Embarassing.
Why can't you just leave me alone?
One independant thought,
The light through the fog
Dissolving the shadows
Which surround me.
Tethered to a short leash
Gripped in an iron chokehold;
Please just let me go.

- Jade Dye

Blind

Written 08/18/2009

Wanting that which
You can't have.
Take your words
Like daggers,
And drive them deep
Into the hearts
Of those you called friends;
Simple jealousy.
Was it worth the pain?
Was it good for you?
The bandaid
On a fatal wound.
Pretend it isn't there.
Though it screams
In your deaf ears.
Vague indifference
For the suffering you caused.
Walk away.
Turn your back.
What you don't see,
Can't hurt you;
Or so you think.

- Jade Dye

Stained

Written 08/05/2009

My mind races at a mile a minute
There's so much that I want to say,
That I need to say.
Why can't I just say what I'm thinking
As I think of it?
When the words do come,
They aren't what I meant.
Give me paper,
And I'll write for hours.
Give me a computer,
And I'll type an entire book.
Face to face, the words aren't there.
What is it I'm looking for?
I've left a trail of broken hearts
And confusion in my wake.
Those that truly loved me
Were pushed away.
Those that I wanted to love me,
Only loved themselves.
Still young, but caught in purgatory.
Wanting to move forward
Yet I'm being held back,
Or am I just holding myself back?
Life deals the better hands
To those around me.
Maybe I'm destined to sit behind
And watch as others
Chase their dreams,
While mine burn before my eyes.

- Jade Dye

Divided

Written 2007

Always on the outside
Looking in.
Pounding on this invisible wall
That divides me from them,
I long for just one touch.
The knowledge of power
That they weild so carelessly
Like a child with a rattle.

My compassionate nature
Seems to be my undoing.
I bend and twist for those
'Friends'
'Family'
That leave a bitter taste.
Choking on the dust
Left behind in their wake.
Just an old shoe
Overused and left abandoned.

My lips have been sewn
Despite the silent screams
That echo in my mind.
At every turn
I'm cast aside.
Why is it I can't find the one,
Who'll listen to me as I listen
To them?

Self hatred grows
As a weed in fertile soil
Spreading and devouring
Searing in my soul
The frustration mounts
Gaining speed.
When will this end?

Smash the mirror that laughs
Take the glass and slash
Rip and tear
At these veins.
Let the blood spill.

- Jade Dye

Artist

July 22, 2009

Beautiful fraud.
Behind that porcelain mask,
Pretending to be real
Despite the deepening cracks,
That expose the inner void.
Fire Demon, raging to get out.

Narcissistic fool.
The world doesn't revolve
Around your inflated ego.

Aggrivating cock-tease.
Your mouth will lead
To your own folly;
Fall from grace.

Talentless poser.
Searching for the voice
That speaks thy mind,
But delivers a cacophony
Of misguided ideas,
Led astray.

- Jade Dye

Little Miss

Written 08/11/2009

Why do I keep you in my life?
Conceited, filthy wretch.
Always about you,
What you want,
What you do,
What you need,
What about anyone else?
A computer game
Controls your life.
Hours pass, turning into days,
Then weeks into months.
Only getting up to piss,
Grab something to eat,
Or drag your ass to bed.
Only showering when you
Finally, can't stand
You own stench.
Must everything
Be delivered to you?
It's easy to critisize
Everyone but yourself.
Little Miss perfect.
You do no wrong.
Time will prove,
Just how wrong you are.

Motion Sickness

Written 2005

The world is spinning
Never stopping
Round and round.
Like the paddle
and the ball
Back and forth.
Back and forth.
I just get ahead
And then I'm yanked back.
The noose tightens
The guillotine drops.

Busting my butt
Day in
And day out.
My body aches
Mind explodes
Is it all for nothing?

Chest tightens
I can't breathe
Everyday
The same
Over and over
Never ending
Twisting
Spinning
Jumping
Bending
Gymnastics
In the office
Yet I'm always
Somehow
Behind.

Oblivious

Written 2006

Looking under every stone
Every corner, every road untravelled.
Searching for the piece
That I've lost.
Somewhere on this winding path
I call life
Where is it?
Who can it be?
Lying alone at night
Watching the waning light
Trace new patterns
On the ceiling and walls
Longing for the presence
Of the one who can still
This increasing restlessness.

Silent as the grave
This house is a tomb,
Slowly driving me crazy,
Where are the voices
I hear in my head?
Where are the scenes
That play behind shut eyes?

Pacing back and forth
There's no where to go,
No exit that'll bring
Excitment, adventure,
Companionship.
So many have tried
To set my heart free.
Yet they were only
A facade of reality.
Leeches existing for their
Own selfish wants.
Satisfying their lust
And robbing me of my energy.

As the days turn to night
And night into day
Time slips away
The sands in the hourglass
Counting the days
Of loneliness,
That tear at my soul
Fading to dust, and lost in the wind.
I've lost my grip
The will to live.

RavenWoman

Written July 31, 2010

I wish I could have known
You better.
Heard your voice,
Your laughter;
Seen your tears.

Your eyes are mine,
And mine, are yours.

The wisdom you possessed,
I will never know.
Faded memories,
Tarnished and worn,
Remind me
Of the woman I hardly knew;
Yet loved so much.

The bloodline is cut.
I feel it in my soul.

A wound so deep,
It cannot be seen.
You were my inspiration;
Taught me not to fight
The creative drive within.
Your art mesmerized
And dazzled
This young mind.

Greedy I was.
Thirsty for more.

A heritage so rich,
I'm wealthy
For being a part.
Our people, our family
Scattered; but strong.
Rest now, RavenWoman.
May your soul
Find peace.

Burnt Bridges

Written 15/12/2009

Gimme, gimme never gets,
You haven't learned your manners yet.
Always focused on what you want,
Can't see what you're about to lose.
The value of friendship
Isn't measured in dollars and cents.
Can't be bought, bartered nor traded.
Given freely.
Always a pillar of support;
Carrying your dreams and wishes,
Catching your tears,
Chasing away your fears.
It's a two way street.
Always taking, never returning;
Eventually the strongest bonds
Will crumble and shatter
Under stress of carrying all the weight.

- Jade Dye

Jaded

Written 2006

As I stare down
Into the bottom
Of yet anoher bottle,
I wonder
Is this really where I want to be?
Trapped inside these walls
Unable to escape
Or claw my way free.
They say "Go Out"
"Have some fun"
How can I have fun
When there's no one
I can call?
One good friend,
The rest are posers
Pretending they really care,
When all they want
Is to suck me dry
Of the blood that's
The only thing
Keeping me going.

Don't call me a whiner
I already know
These are the things
I don't tell a soul.
I just let them reverberate
Inside my skull.
Let the knives dig deeper
As I smile for the world.

So goodbye for now
Farewell and goodnight
While I enjoy this bottle
One last drink,
Maybe in the morning
It won't hurt so much.
By now I've realised
This road was meant
For me to walk alone.

- Jade Dye

Lynch Mob

Blame game
Point those fingers
And glare.
Bitch and moan
Sticks and stones;
Gossip Queens
Out for blood.
Highschool mentality
Does not befit you.

For every decision
A matching consequence.
You made your choice
Now deal with it.

"She has to go"
Repeat as you may
Change only comes,
When you find
Your own voice.
Talk now
Or be spoken for.

Do not hate the one
That succeeds.
Help was offered
And smugly denied.
You dug the hole
Find your own
Way out.

-Jade Dye

Judgment

Blame game
A crying shame.
For those that hate
Have sealed their fate.
A teacher cries
As knowledge dies.
Wisdom is rare
Do not compare,
An educational tool
With an ordinary fool.

Twisted words
Free as birds,
Wound and slice.
Who pays the price
For your intolerant greed
Which grows like a weed.
Corrupting a mind,
Are ties that bind.

-Jade Dye

Carnal

Written 2005

I can feel the flesh shudder
Where the hand caresses my arm.
The ensuing wave of nausea
Boils in my blood.
The voice that speaks of love
Yet delivers only selfishness
And chauvanism.
The child inside the man,
Or the man that is the child?
Eyes that refuse the truth
But wants the pretty picture,
Painted with lies.
I've given my heart, my mind. I've given my body.
He wants and wants, wants forever
Me.
But offers little in return.
Pure animal loathing
Longs to tear at the delicate membrane
That covers his body; peel and rip,
Until nothing remains.

- Jade Dye

Anniversary

Written August 1, 2010

We are together
Though we're divided.
Standing united
At a mutual point.
Our lives combined,
Becoming intertwined.

My eyes are mirrors
Reflecting my soul;
Yet they speak
A silent language
So very few understand.
But you comprehend so completely;
Nothing needs to be said.

A newborns' vision
Crisp and clear.
I can see the path I walk.
Where I want to go.
And who I want
To be with.

Love lingers in the air.
I can feel it
Though you're not here.
Patience will bring the day
When I can be at your side.

Whisper

Written March 10, 2011

I spy with my little eye,
Something that cannot be here.
A fading whisper
The glowing darkness,
Of a life long since past.

The air shivers
The ground sighs,
A silent lament
For the earthbound soul.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Penetrating darkness
Surrounds and binds.
It's here somewhere
An exit to eternal slumber.
The doorway I cannot find.

I hear the voices
Mute and garbled
They're all around me
And nowhere, at the same time.

That's a decent choice of words you have there.
Despite its style, you should try to rap using those lyrics and a pop tune. =]

You should title it "Reality" OR "As it is".

Lol thanks, not really into converting it to pop or rap tho xD. My bf's working it into a metal song his band may play. Although that is an interesting idea, that one stanza goth, emo, punk etc etc would sound great coming from a rapper. O_o

I'm not necessarily a fan of rap music, however there was something about the way it reads that made me think it would be interesting to hear in a rap song. =]

Metal works too.
Are you specifically the songwriter for your bf's band? Or did he just like the poem enough to implement it into his band's music?
Just curious. ^^

He in general likes my poetry and has for a while been wanting to implement some of my poems - or remix the wording of them, into some songs. Otherwise I don't have much else to do with the band other than promoting them and expanding their fanbase.

Adding another poem here. One of my longest works; it started as one thing, and kept evolving into others. More of a rant than a poem. I'm not much for rhyme schemes, I've tried my hand at it a couple times. Mostly it just comes across as false. I prefer to write 'in the moment' with whatever emotion that bubbles to the surface, and just roll with it.

I like that one quite a bit actually.
I'm also very fond of the points made in the poem.
It has a real feeling of expression behind it.

Consider me a fan of your poetry. =]

Aha! I found it. Damn, really need to learn to put my new poems onto my computer right away >_>
This one is untitled, haven't come up with anything suitable as of yet. This is the only poem I've ever successfully written with a rhyme scheme to it.

Split lip and a broken phone,
Good times, but a shattered home.
Creative drive,
Keeps dreams alive.
Mountains from mole hills,
For your cheap thrills.
Blood from bone,
My life is my own.

This one sounds like it should be the lyrics for a Limp Bizkit song. =]

It's short and sweet, but mostly because it isn't just a bunch of rhyming words - they actually come together to say something.
It's brilliant. =]

This poem marked the turning point in my creativity; I really began to open up and let it all out.

Numb

Numb

Written 2007

I can feel myself slipping
Falling away from reality;
Watching the world crumble
Underneath my fingertips.
Like ripples on the water
My chaos spreads like a disease;
Everything I touch
Turns to dust before my eyes.
Oblivious to those around me
It hides in the mirror of my soul;
Reflected only to the few
Who understand its' strange language.
Devouring my energy
Draining away my life
Tossed aside like used tissue;
Abandoned in a dank gutter
Alone for eternity.
Each day another piece dies
Stripped away by those I called friends, lovers;
Family.

Torment

Torment

Written 2006

Shadows of many years ago
Flicker in my mind.
Behind that bathroom door
My worst nightmare -
Haunting me through time.
I thought it was gone.
Sealed away
In my memory.
Safe. Hidden.
For no one to see.
I can't get his scent off me
A phantom in my flesh.
Innocense lost.
Stolen, never to be returned.
Is it really over
Or has it only just begun.

Well written. =]

It is definitely artistic to its core, and I think that it employs words in a way that allow emotions to be transferred from the writer to the reader.

Thank you for reading on happy.gif have another piece here I'd like to share. It was for a class project in school, we were to pick a subject - could be a person or a thing - that annoys you, and to create a poem around it. This isn't one of my favorites but I do like it.

Barbie Wannabes

Barbie Wannabes

Written 2003 in Mrs. Staley's Creative Writing Class

The way you act and the sound of your voice,
Makes a chill run down my spine.
You're annoying as a cat in heat;

You're welcome. =]

"Barbie Wannabes" is definitely one that I should be sharing with a few people I know - they act just like that and it annoys me as well.
(All credit will be given if I share it with anyone, just for your information. =])

Haven't been around for a few days, school started so I've been real busy. Meanwhile here's another poem that's been collecting plenty of dust.

Linger

Linger

Written 08/04/09

Old grudges fester,
Sprouting seeds of anger
That dig deeper,
Hiding in the darkest crevass
Of memory.
Biding their time.

Why can't we just leave
The past in the past?
Move on and
Welcome a new day;
A new friend,
A new lover.

This life is fleeting
Passing us by.
Too short for petty arguements
Bridge the gaps;
Forget, or be forgotten.

Good to see you back again. =]

Linger seems to be well thought-out and is a clear message. All put together in a well-built tone.
Yeah, I do like it.

Final exam tomorrow, and going away for the weekend. So, I leave you with this. One of my favorites, and I made a sculpture that fits the theme of this poem as well. Was very inspiring and even after I'd written the poem I still felt like I had to add more so I created a sculpture.

Daddy's Girl

Daddy's Girl

July 22, 2009

Digital princess
High on your pedestal.
With tearstained cheeks
You weep for that which
You've never known,
Nor possessed.
How is it you claim
To know the truth of lies?
Force-fed a diet of vanity
Served on a tarnished spoon;
Delivered by a demented reality,
Of a false society
To which you readily serve
And obey; submit.
For what point and purpose
Do you sacrifice your soul
To the greedy peasants
You don't give a damn about.
A fashionable mess.
Scorn the mirror,
For it only reflects
That which you refuse to see.
Ignore the voice,
For it only speaks
The truth which you deny.

- Jade Dye

And as a bonus, pictures of my sculpture which is called Digital Princess (which is in dire need of repairs after my cats decided to knock it over, break it in the midst of a hyper spaz attack. o_o bastards!)
Digital Princess

"A picture is worth a thousand words", or so the quote goes. However, you've managed to sum up the "picture/sculpture" in a mere 105 words; fantastic. =]

(You are a very talented sculptor. Have you created others that are accompanied by poem?)
