Yeah, I pretty much gave IG maker a try, I mean, I didnt even edit anything, cause i played the sample games. In my opinion, I think RMVX is way much better, I dunno, maybe Im wrong. I just wanna know everyone's opinion, cause maybe there is more to it than wat it seems, so watever. So lemme know wat you guys think about this new engine, I just wanna know if its worht a try, or should I just stick with RMVX, cause I already started a game in it. So let me know guys, which engine should I stick to?

Personally, I don't like IG as much as VX, either. I dunno, it's a good maker and all, but it's a complicated mess at first glance. I tried working with it for a few hours, but just couldn't seem to get into the groove of making something other than an RPG. I'm too storyline and dialog intensive for action games.

All in all, I prefer RPG's.

A battle system does not distinct a genre, but IG maker just seems like a rushed product.

I know wat you mean Ziosin, Im like that too, im all about storyline, heck, i think thats my specialty in rpg making. And youre right Rukiri, the maker just seems way too rushed, I mean, even the way the box looks, it looks so cheap. Not like RPG maker VX, it looks more professional. I dunno, but Im still gonna give IG maker a try, but ill definitely focus more on RMVX. Thanks for the replies guys.

From what I have seen with IG maker, it has the possibility to make great games, but as Rukiri sayed it just feels very rushed. I mean the help file is ok not as good as the other rpg maker help files have been. Also it does not have a nice community base as the other rpg makers do.

Why the hell would anyone who knows how to script use IG Maker instead of XNA? Why would anyone who doesn't know how to script use IGN instead of Game Maker Pro?

If you know C# you wouldn't even bother with IG in the first place, and Game Maker has a hell of a lot more potential than Ig..

Personally, I think that programs that try to do as much as possible (IG Maker Supports Shooters, Platformers, etc) aren't as good as programs that do one thing well (RPG Maker). Even if you're going to make a universal game engine, then it shouldn't be 3 engines smashed into one lackluster game maker; it should be something like Game Maker, which works for almost any genre.

But how user friendly is Game Maker? That's what I like about RPG Maker VX is that I didn't need to know any scripting at all and was able to create a full-sized RPG. I assume I could do the same with IGM only for ARPGs? And I suspect since Enterbrain made it, it would be as userfriendly as RPG Maker VX?

I am kind of disappointed with how AGM came out overall. It had a lot of potential to it, but in the end I can understand why its unpopular.

The system files only take WAVs, which is a pain in the neck and does nothing but increase the file size of projects.

The interface is definitely confusing at a glance, not one of my biggest beefs about it, though.

The file size for it is a good GB, and it seems that even a 4-level Mario clone you make with it will also be a hefty download.

The good part about this maker is that it has a great animation editor, with frame rate control and hit boxes, but overall, I admit this was a failure. The crappy thing is that I found it easier to use than Game Maker, despite how that maker is truly superior, especially since it's free
