I really want to use other tilesets with other maps. but everytime i try, it changes the tiles around it.. there a way to just make one big tileset so that it isnt so hard to make everything.???

Yes, you can only use one tileset per map.

Yes, you can create one gigantic tileset by clipping all of the others together.

However, doing that will often cause lots of lag.

Merging one or two tilesets together shouldn't cause lag, in fact the main and really only problem with doing so is the limit on the number of auto-tiles you can then use. Give it a go and see how it works out.

Here's my tutorial on how to do so: Tileset Merging

Merging a couple of tilesets won't. If you merge all of them, however, lag has been reported.

Granted, you need to make a really huge tileset to cause that to happen... but it's been reported.
