From what I played, there's nothing resembling FF at all, except for the music. So I don't think this needs to be an FF fangame at all.
Second, having FF7's Last boss theme as a battle music is a bad idea.
The buildings need roofs, some look like they're completely flat.
I liked the intro music.
The city was laid out pretty well, except for the roofs thing. Otherwise, it didn't look too bad.
I think you need more items and armor in the beginning. There's only enough armor for 1 person to be well armored, the other 2 character have half the defense. Also, there aren't enough Phoenix Down items, no status condition healing items, and not enough healing items. In the beginning, this would be very important.
The escape command didn't seem to work...
The battle in the treasure chest was too hard. He could use confuse (the status effect I hate most), and does 200+ damage on a character, unless they're the one with an armor and a helmet, so it only does 80+. So you keep using your skill or attack (the only 2 things you can do), and it keeps going on. Eventually he slayed 2 of my characters, and confused the 3rd. Game over. I just stopped playing after that.

No. If you knew what my current project was, you'd know that I don't. The thing is, if your game has little resemblance to a Final Fantasy game, it'd be simple enough to not make it an FF fangame. Most people prefer original games to fangames for one, and for those who are fans of FF, they're going to have expectations of your game if you label it as an FF game.
You'd need to have the look and sound of an FF. This game VERY rarely did that, with exception of some of the music with I think could be replaced anyway (At least up to what I played to, I haven't really been at home much to play more). If there were screenshots of the project (which there should be), you'd see nothing that resembled FF in there. I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just saying that it doesn't seem very FF, and could easily and probably for the better be an original game (The Lost Hope, rather than FF: The Lost Hope).
Trust me, I'm a fairly big fan of FF, my first game ever being FF1, and having played all of the FF's except for 11, I'll expect the game to "feel" like a Final Fantasy game. This feels like an original adventure with an FF name put onto it, and there was nothing in the part I played up to that resembled FF in any way except for the music. Again, it's not a bad thing that it doesn't.

-I did get into the sewers (Unless it's a different sewer that you're referring to).
-Games don't NEED to be encrypted. Sure you run the risk of people taking your work, but unless you have original work (such as custom graphics), I think it's better that you don't, so people could fix a bug that wasn't spotted by the developer, check the coding in case they want to give the developer feedback and advice on this (I do that sometimes, but mostly with RM2K3 games), or just go in and listen to the soundtrack or something. Besides, if people take maps from another game, you can tell. I'll ban for plagiarism if I find an instance of it.
-Yeah, forgot about saved games! Yeah, those should be removed. I don't know what file type they are in RMXP though.

QUOTE (darkhalo @ Aug 6 2006, 08:01 PM) - Your game ins't encrypted dude ... anyone could just take it and use your maps ... -There are already save games in the game ... i could use your save ... but i won't As long as credit is given, I dont mind. Though as a demo, it wouldnt be right to do that kind of thing so early. So Ive encrypted it. Saves taken out of demo. Allright ... and a question ... after some things ... I got a blond girl im my party and bluish haired one disapeared and she had my bet equips ... how about that ?
