Features
Replaces tedious "picture" events for map eye candy
Automatically draws lighting effects for your windows smile.gif

Advanced users can change it's settings on a per-tile & global basis

Script
Since there's that legal issue thing about everything being ientry's property, and we had made this for an upcoming commercial game, drag yourself to this link to grab it. It's the long area with a gray background

Installation
Plug & play, normal spot.

Customization
If you'd like to edit this script and settings, here's a guide:

CODE
AutoLightTiles[id] = [x-off,y-off,width,height]
AutoLightStart[id] = starting opacity
AutoLightColors[id] = color hash, alpha’s above
AutoLightOpac = opacity of ALL lights. can use as variable instead with “$game_variables[#]“. it’s an evaluated string
AutoLightZ = z layer for ALL lights

If you can't understand that, don't edit it! smile.gif

FAQ
This script isn't stolen from somewhere else. The GameBaker reference is our module we use for all settings to not have them interfere with other scripts, and that site is in limbo atm.

this is really an eye candy but when i put it in my game it says:

script 'window light' line 60: SyntaxError occured

can you post a demo on this? it would be real nice if you could...happy.gif

@dan - Sounds like another script is messing this up, those lines are references to the normal Game_Map part of VX

Nice Sandy!
Awesome Eye-candy script. XD. Even if it's just for visual effects, it get rid of the extra work of putting an overlay for light effects. XD.

Oh and also, when you post up a script, please make a reply to our RGSS2 Script List. You can follow the template for the BBcode from the first post.

Will do jens009! I'll throw this one in there in a bit when I post the next script, unless you mod folks have gotten around to it already smile.gif

Here's the step-by-step. It's a very simple script!:

- Give window tiles each their own settings (I did this for everyone)
- Check every tile on the 3rd layer to see if it's a window
- If yes, draw a big picture on top of the map (makes it much easier to scroll)
- Create a mini picture for every window & put it on the big picture
- Move bigpic around the map mimicing the tiles
