Omega Equipment Customization scripts

Introduction

Omega Equipment customization scripts is a collection of scripts (although right now only for) , for full customization of equipment. If you are wondering why they are not separated, that is because all of them depend on one script, that is OECS main (it is in the demo) . That script changes the way you interact with equipment a bit, you cant buy more than one equipment at a time. (you can still buy them one by one though).

The scripts:

EPSS v1.6

This script allows you to have equipment with prefixes and suffixes, like Diablo, and gain additional effects from those. This script also allows you to choose where to gain these kind of items and also to have a gamble shop that produces randomly prefixed/suffixed items. and
a shop with random prefix/suffixes (but unlike gamble shop this one's visible) . Updated, now with Identify system.


Slot system add-on v1.00

This script allows you to have a slotted equipment, where you could have gems or other items which you can attach to equipment, and gain additional effects from those.

Durablity system v1.00 BETA


This script Allows equipment to have durability, which means they can be destroyed as you use it. (right now the only command to repair is to repair all, i will add something soon)

Upgrade system v1.1

This script allows you to have an upgrade scene, where you can upgrade weapons and armor, and their parameters would grow.
You can now assign item upgrade requirements.

All you need to know is in the script. i suggest you read the instructions
Q: I get a syntax error when running the script? is there a bug?
A: If its a syntax error, that means it's your fault. look for misplaced commas and unquoted words

This is somewhat reminiscent of WoW, where most of the items have a suffix to denote what kind of stats they give, such as Monkey for Agility and Stamina.

There goes me blabbing on again. I'll give this a try, see if I can incorporate it.

I must be missing something.

I pasted this script into a new build and set up a shop after turning on the random shop switch (20). The items were expensive, but when I tried to purchase one I get an error regarding line 398. No changes were made to the script and it seems to be set up correctly.

Maybe a demo would help clarify things.

i changed something yesterday without testing it, because of some incompatability with a KGC script.

I love this script, it's awesome. The only thing I need if to be able to call a prefix-/suffixed item to the the player's inventory. Such as:
CODE
$prefix_suffix(Item#, "prefix")

I really need this for my game. If you could make this possible I'll give you a cookie. =D

Exactly. I'm going to use it for my game, it uses sockets and such. If you could add this, that would be awesome, thanks.

this is nice... I would like you to do the remove when gone and merge duplicates... as that would probably fix lots of future problems right at the beginning...

oh I thought of something sorta probably hard...

multiple prefixes/suffixes...

ok lets say this...

prefix

eternal
bloody

suffixes

freezing
blindness

ok so lets say this makes an

eternal bloody DAGGER of freezing blindness...

this would give your character a 50hp/mp bonus...
add a leach life / or leach damage to enemy kinda like poison...
then hits with cold element and blindness elements...

would be neat if it generated RARE's which would be more than
magical items...

rares have 1 or 2 prefix and/or 1 or 2 suffix...


I still don't like how the game handles element defenses,,,

I would rather have options of 1-100% element defense and -1 to -100 percent defense...
I hate the 100 50 0 150 200 type systems...

Is anyone else able to see the prefixes and suffixes when shopping? I can see the price is higher than normal, but not what I am buying or the properties of it.

Hmmm. I get an error every time I try a Gamble Shop. It tells me that pretty much everything (price, atk, etc.) are undefined. I even tried it in an empty project and got the same errors. Any ideas?

Make a switch, name it Gamble Shop, look at that switch's number. Go into your script editor and find the Prefix/Suffix script. Scroll down a few lines and look for the line with "switch" in it. Get rid of that number and put in the number of the switch you just made. Press OK. Make a new event on your map. Change the graphic to a person. On the first line, use a Control Switches to turn on the switch you just made. Click OK. Click Test Play. Walk up to the event. Press enter. Look at the shop and fiddle with it. Close out of the Test Play screen. Come back here and thank me for my oh-so-obvious short tutorial.

You didn't set up the prefixes/suffixes correctly. Look at the script again and use the appropriate commands for this.
