QUOTE (OnlineWarrior094 @ May 19 2009, 11:38 AM) *
i don't fully understand this.

I have a lot of questions:

- How do you set an event to open a materia shop?
- How do you get your player to recieve materia from an event? eg. a chest
- How do you equip materia to a character using events? Like the 'change weapon' and 'change skills' event commands?

Please excuse my newbness

Sorry if this is necroposting, but I figured out that adding a materia shop is done with the script $scene = Scene_MateriaShop.new
Hope that helps.

I still don't completely understand how this works either.
If someone could just make a practical example of an adding materia event or something that world really help.

For anyone that get an error by just running the game with the script, you either forgot to add SDK or you copy pasted the code NightShade posted. Since he never disabled smilies, all places where it says "(Input::B)" will be replaced with "(Input:cool.gif"

It's pretty easy actually. Here's a demo that I made with required images and how to call shop/equip screen.

Hope it helps you get started

huh.gif This link downloads an unknown file type. What type of file extension do I need to add on to it?
I can start a new game without any errors, but I am having the same problem with getting things like the shop to happen. That is when I get an error: SDK line 2515: No Method `*' for nil: NilClass

Download the file, rename it so it ends with .rar so it becomes "Materia_System.rar" without the quotations, that should get the demo working.

Although you may have found a legitimate bug, if try and open the materia's when you don't have any money or materia's or something like that.
If you're still getting the problem after getting the demo working let us know!

Thanks that works just fine. I even copied the SDK from your demo over to the game I was making and it fixed the problem I was getting.
Now I have just a simple question. Is there a way to add a materia to the inventory without going throught the shop, like if it was found in a treasure chest?
