Magical DoReMi:
Reasoning: Yes, I'll admit it was cute, adorable even. But a complete knockoff of Sailor Moon. Normally these "Magical Girl" animes don't get on my nerves so much (I actually like a few), but this one did.

Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds
Reasoning: It's just an excuse for them to print new sets of the TCG. This has nothing to do with the orignal plot, characters, or anything. Even the game they play is completely different. If the show had nothing to do with Kazuki Takahashi's original creation, it might have been at least tolerable.

Bakugan
Reasoning: It's Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh thrown into a blender. Though the original two series had their own splendor, all I can say about this is "No, no, no, no, no, and no."

You guys are talking about Dragon Ball Z! Not entirely different, but deffinatly not the same.
I can't believe people actually hated Sailor Moon, too!

Let's see...I hated the new ghost in a shell, it was boring.
There's some stupid ass anime with dinosaurs on really early in the morning I coincidentally saw, I don't remember what it is, it might be bakugan, or it might be the fact that I hate that one too.
Card Captors was pretty lame now that I think about it and yu-yu-hakusho or whatever.

Never seen the Naruto's or the avatar's, decided to stay away from those.

I am gonna throw in some odd balls here I suppose,

strawberry panic- I useally never drop an anime but this is... well... a rare case, just don't... watch it okey?
Mononoke- This one was also a dropped anime, if you look at hhow it looks... you will understand'
"Some thing I don't care to remeber the name of"- It was horrible, an anime trying to look american! YUCK
Dragon ball- never watched it, but its the sourche of the infamous dragon ball syndrom so I will keep my distance.
Preatty much any dubbed anime- Beacuse they suck

Wasn't Mononoke a movie? Princess Mononoke right? I saw that, I thought it was pretty cool. Might have been started as an anime and dropped, I dunno.

How about FF7: Advent children? That's anime enough for me and people think FF7 has 9 lives well, it died a long time ago.
That movie sucked, Sephiroth is gonna come back one of these days thanks to square and kill everybody.

So did the Final Fantasy movie, I mean, I'm talkin about movies but they're anime movies. I don't know how the Final Fantasy movie was made and I know it wasn't "anime" made but whatever, it was awful.

Anime usually refers to animation made in Japan. Princess Mononoke is anime. Mononoke didn't start as a series but as a movie.

As for the FF7 movie, it's still animation although its CGI and since it was made in Japan, it's automatically an anime too.

Right, I knew it was Japanese animation. So they must have started a series after the movie or a spin-off of it.
Ah, CGI, that's the word I was looking for, was the normal Final Fantasy movie made in japan? I don't remember.
As for american anime (or any other country, I've seen some brazillian anime) would you really not call them anime?
I think "anime" has adapted to everything in the sort of the genre now but If so, what would we call them?

No. Mononoke is a single movie. It's Miyazaki who made it... He's considered a God in Japan for his anime movies... not because of the animation itself but more because of the themes presented in them.

What do you mean by Brazilian anime? I never heard of those.

If you think Avatar, it's a heavily Japanese influenced american cartoon.
If you think Wakfu, it's a heavily japanese influenced french cartoon.

There aren't any specific terms to refer to them... But I like to call them Anime Wannabes.

So technically, animation made outside of Japan isn't anime.

The FF7 movie was made in Japan. That's why it's anime.

Besides, anime is just a term used by westerners to refer to japanese animation.

In Japan, anime is just japanese cartoon.

However in the outside world, many of us think that anime is a specific art style like this.

[Show/Hide] Anime Girl

But really anime could mean anything like this.
[Show/Hide] Kinnikuman

Alright, I gotcha, kinda what I figured but I understand it now.
I meant the Final Fantasy movie, not the FF7 movie. I don't know where that Final Fantasy movie was made since it looks really americanized, it was the one that came out in theatres.
Actually, you know, the brazillian anime was probably just a translation but anime is really popular there, so I'm sure they have their own versions just like america does.
I also noticed a lot of people think of it as an art style, but I think there are too many "art styles" of anime to say that about it.

As for bad animes, I saw something the other day on my anime network on-demand called "Wedding Peach" Lol, that one sucked. Plus I don't really like the type of art style they used.

Which final fantasy movie you're talking about? Spirits within? That too was made in Japan.

Concerning the brazilians, that's right, they are probably dubbed animes. Captain Tsubasa's very popular there (or used to be).
English speaking countries are always the last to broadcast anime.
About Wedding Peach, wtf is that? It looks a lot like Sailor Moon. No wonder you won't like that especially if you're a guy, lol.

Yepp, spirits within. That movie suckkkkked. When I was looking, I saw a lot of Captain Tsubasa and St. Saiyou(or somethin like that) on the brazillian sites.
Lol I know, but I liked Sailor Moon...I don't know, I suppose it's not really something I should be judging.

I thought the ending of Outlaw star sucked, like it was forced. But I liked the series.
Or maybe that was cowboy bebob? It's been years and I always got those two confused.

@paco - So, different thing altogether then, huh? I didn't know, that does look lame.

EDIT: I just made my post look nicer.

Saint Seiya, another classic I adore.
The spirits within movie was Square's first? attempt at making a cgi movie I think. I thought it was alright, nothing special, but at that time what I really wanted instead was a final fantasy movie based on FF7 which came true... And I'm glad.

I haven't watched outlaw stars yet but I have the entire collection already. I need to find some time to watch it.
I don't think it's Cowboy Bebop, because I kinda liked the ending of it...

It's sad, I actually like Totally Spies, Pokemon, Dragon Ball, Inuyasha, and Sailor Moon...

Anyway, I can't stand Ninja Nonsense. I watched it thinking it was going to be cool and stuff, but I swear I lost a few brain cells while watching it. Like almost everyone else, I hate Naruto. At first I was like, 'This is the coolest.' but it's stupid and a waste of time. Other than those two, there aren't many anime I can name off the top of my head that I hate.

What's so bad about Naruto? There are so many people out there who are just jumping on the bandwagon because its popular and there are narutards out there that makes the fanbase look really bad. Naruto is not a masterpiece, but it's far from being garbage. The anime community needs to lighten up. sleep.gif or just read the manga, which I don't think is bad at all. smile.gif

I also seriously think Naruto has a much better plot than Dragon Ball but that's understandable considering the time gap.

However, you shouldn't feel any guilt for liking shows that others hate. A lot of anime fans love to bash mainstream animes, and you shouldn't listen to them. wink.gif

At first I liked Naruto but I just lost interest in it. I only watched the TV show and read just a little bit of the manga. As much of Naruto I watched I didn't find the plot interesting, that's why I thought it was a waste of time. Don't get me wrong, I like the characters and such but I just don't like the series at all. I think Dragon Ball is better, but that's just what I think.

That's what I'm saying... I too lost interest in Naruto like 1 and a half year back, but was a big fan of it in 2003. Strangely, I don't recall anyone bashing it. It's only when it started getting broadcasted in America that it got sent to hell. I don't say I hate Naruto, but I don't love it either. I however understand why people still like it. If you managed to get addicted for a little while, I don't think it's that bad of a show. The reason I stopped watching it is because of the fillers and the animation was going downhill, as if they lacked budget or didn't put any effort in the episodes especially with the naruto vs sasuke fight, which should have been epic like in the manga, but instead turned out to be a complete farce.

If you're talking about the original Dragon Ball, I think it was good, but Dragon Ball Z's plot only good up till the Freeza Saga which was supposed to be the real ending. The rest didn't make much sense to me.

Well, I think that everybody hates Naruto becuse of:

*The BAD Dubs (Even in Latin america the dub was horrible)
*Cliches, everyobdy hates Cliches
*Narutards, like the one in the sandbox

Maybe the Anime of Naruto is bad, but is true that reading the manga is far better than watching the anime, is like reading a book and then its movie
Examples:
Chobits Manga is better than its anime
Harry Potter Books are far better than its movies

There are a few things that ruined Naruto for me, yes I was a fan of it once.
Uuuh. for thos who actually watch it and don't want any spoilers don't read this dry.gif

1: Fillers, they kept on coming... like 2,3 years now is full of fillers!

2: Sasuke! That got damn brat! "boho! I need to get stronger there for I follow the guy who wanted to destroy konoha, so he can rape my body but I don't care!" Saskue was at the start the cool guy, but turned out to be a fricking retard.
I can make naruto a better serie in a few words: Instand of going with orochimaru he along the others try and find a cure to the cursed seal, since it ate him alive or whatever, There much better. Instand of ruining sasuke who he had built up for 100 episodes or so.

well enough of sasuke... well no... number three involves him too.

3: Dragon ball syndrome! they just keep getting stronger and stronger and stronger. Theres no end! and yeah, saskue is the worst of em all in that case. Naruto gets to learn one skill thats powerful, but he can't use it since it hurts him self. Saskue? Well... He got 100 or so, that are better then narutos skill and he can just whip them out when he feels like it. They should rename it Saskue shinpuuden or something now. Since he appears to be at a godly level.

Naruto- Loved the Comic and all but the American Dubed ruined it and the horible sensoring since they cant say drunken fist on tv. And the loong fillers.

DBZ - Lol i loved that show back in the day too , fights are too long as said before but they had great amimation for the most part unlike most animes today that are all pc done.

Death Note - Had an amazing story but took a horible turn in the second part but lucky pulled up on the last 2 episodes.

Sailor moon - JUst ewww

Bleach - Just wrong horible art style, the names of the characters are just way too big and dumb. Also kinda anoying to watch but hey if naruto wasnt ever made then bleach wouldnt have been made either. since the main thing for it was branched from narutos character design.

It's unfair to hate a show because of the fans. Also, not everyone hates clichés. One of the reason why Naruto is popular is because of the clichés. It goes back to its shonen roots.

I agree, but like all popular shows, I think it's japanese tradition to add fillers.

I hate Sasuke but...

he killed Orochimaru in the manga. He's no fool.
