This is the latest version of the game. If you have the game downloaded, this isn't much of a change, really. Otherwise you should get this one if you haven't downloaded yet. It fixes the Slash ability so it doesn't work on as many enemies as it did before, it adds a Steel Armor which I completely forgot to add into the game before, slightly reduces the power of some bosses which I've gotten complaints about, and adds a bit more to the quest rewards.

IMAAK made a nice walkthrough for the game. I added it to the first post, you can click here if you don't want to go back a page. Walkthrough

You got a walkthrough! Cool... although I disagree with it being a pdf and all 8D
...Anyway, I would like to formally ask for permission to go in, edit, and produce a "Hard Mode" version 8D

I wouldn't mind, but if even the bedbug can be made to do 0 damage against you, I'm wondering how you'll pull it off.

Started playing your game, and really enjoying it so far to be honest. I love the character customisation in the beginning. One little thing i found by accident:
an invisible chest? O_o
Nothing major, but I thought you should know about that.

They're deliberate. The Thief skill SeeHidden would make it appear if you had it equipped - along with many others. You can still obtain hidden chests without seeing em, though.

A perfect game!! Just I expected, Even though it's RM2K3.. or RM2K, You made custom/different features tongue.gif... It's just like the old final fantasies.
Yep, I was trying to go for a bit of old school feel.
Also, yes, those invisible chests are deliberate. You can find some nice stuff with it, so you may want to get a thief in your group later so you can scout out the dungeons with it. Or even towns!
The game actually took me about 2 years to make, as I've been busy working on pixel stuff for other peoples projects, university, work, and all that.

I've started playing this, and I really like it! I only just beat the crystal cave, and then my people died while I was on a quest to find a water gryphon or something. @_@ I'm really enjoying the plot, and there are some funny places unrelated to the main quest.
I noticed something in the crystal cave, though. The bridge that's near the recovery water has some passability problems. There's this plant sticking out of the water, and it allows you to walk on the water when you go towards it. I tested the other plants, and none of them have the same problem. I'll try to take a screenshot later.

Hey Oceans Dream. I've started playing the game. While I haven't got very far into it yet, I am having a lot of fun with your game and can tell you what I like and dislike so far! I think you are a lot further ahead of me at knowing what is good and bad in an RPG right now but hopefully what I say can still help you note down if your game did what you were hoping it would do for the player.
From the beginning the game feels similar to one of those classic RPG game from around 1980 - 1995. Somewhere between that time period I think. This put a smile on my face, since I had the impression your battle system will involve strategy and thinking similar to that shown in Final Fantasy and I was right!
As a player I enjoy having freedom to experiment and see the best way the party can deal greater damage to their opponents and having to use different tactics depending on the enemy. I felt you pulled that off wonderfully and got the impression you must have had a lot of fun deciding what fits into which class.
I enjoyed encountering so many different enemies and different troops. It really brings good strategy to the battles. I haven’t really gotten far into the boss battles yet, since I was taken by surprise by the Evan battle and had low health points lol, but I took a quick peek into your walkthrough and am impression by the strategies to defeating them.
Your mapping is really good. I really enjoy the looks of the beachy area and the town/kingdom/palace near the start of the game. I enjoy trying to explore every inch and area of the maps and I really love the tilesets you are using. I enjoyed seeing large amounts of interaction between objects on the map and I had a lot of fun opening all those chests and reading what Neil would say about the skulls.
I haven’t enjoyed the plot much at the moment. This may just be a personal style issue relating with either the stories I enjoy playing, or my current age, or both but I found it quite dull just having the quests take me from one place to the other. While I say this, the dialogue did feel very professional and well-written and I found it quite humorous listening to what the characters and NPCs had to say at times. I think the problem for me here was, for some reason I did not feel like caring for the main characters much and that took my interest in the plot away. This may change as the game progresses, since I’m still near the starting point, but if that is the case and this isn’t a personal issue the starting point should try grabbing the players interest.
I think you’ve had some really creative and brilliant ideas here and you have successfully performed them well in Paradise Blue. This game stands out as something unique to be because of the effort you put in the battle system and the thinking you had with the character abilities, character classes, character skillsets etc. This game is really fun to play through and entertaining because of the maps, interactive objects, quests and battles so I really would recommend this game to others.

Ah, those stupid plants, I thought I fixed that long ago! OK, will look into this then.

Yeah definitely, I like reading player responses, it always helps for the next game.

I was really hoping to emulate that feel, one problem was trying to do that without pissing players off or boring them.

For the most part, yes. They're not fully balanced, and RM2k3 screwed me over on some of my ideas, but I was hoping that most of them would be attractive in their own way. Blue mages and Archers might have been a bit too powerful, but at least people were using them this time.

Surprised me too! I saw one where they killed an optional boss in 2 rounds because of a setup I never thought to use. I myself go for straightforward attack buffs and heavy damage dealers. Or dancing. I like that too.

Yeah my weakness is story and writing. Personally I love Amelia, although she was a later addition to the game so I didn't get to do as much with her as I probably should have. But yes, gonna have some help in this department in the future.
I'm really sleeepy so I'll just say I'm glad you like the rest!

Omg yay! Been waiting for this for awhile. Been playing it and I like it so far, going to continue playing.
Only issue I saw was when you change classes, you can't open the menu again till you leave the map.

That sounds like a bug to me. When you change classes, it's supposed to reopen the menu, and you can freely access the menu after that.

Ah, I'm not sure. Do any midis sound? If not, then check your Synth volume in volume controls.

Yeah midis play fine O__o I'm really not sure what could be wrong. I don't have RM2k3 if that would affect it. But I did just install the English 2k3 RTP but it still didn't fix it.

I bet it may be your sound card that doesn't support.
Anyways, this is a great game and I've enjoyed every second of it
Although I've encountered a glitch where after some battles, my Blue Mage seemed to have forgotten all blue magic spells, except the black spells which I equipped the skill on. Same goes for my White Mage's white magic. This glitch occured in certain places but fixed by switching maps.
Also, yeah I know about that glitch but I don't know exactly what causes it. I know there were a few triggers such as learning a new blue magic spell which might possibly have caused it, but otherwise I tried looking and I wasn't sure what it could be. Not easy for me to replicate either so there wasn't too much I could do to fix it, sorry.
