Me and my friends call it dragon ball syndrome, so its known as shonen syndrome eh? Good to know.
I'm just saying it's a shonen syndrome because Dragon Ball's not the only manga where characters get stronger. It's very common in shonen, way too common. If people can't stand that, they shouldn't watch shonens about fighting. Bleach, Naruto, Saint Seiya, Flame of Recca, Captain Tsubasa and the list goes on. I personally don't think it should be removed, because to me, it's the heart of all shonens... where the main character grows up and become stronger, to defeat even stronger enemies.

I don't normally hate anime, but I know there's at least 1.
Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo - any anime that has the main character look like he's from the 70s and use his nose hair to fight is seriously on crack or something.
Cyber 009 - This anime was okay, but the character decision was way to exaggerated. And how many babies do you know with telekenetic powers?
Fighting Foodons - This took food fighting to a new level......and it wasn't very high either.
Those are the only ones I can think of atm. Like I said, I'm not too picky when it comes to anime. I let the first episode decide whether I like a series or not.

Hahaha!
I heard some weird stuff about that show, but now that you mention it, it sounds even funnier. I think I'll give it a go.
EDIT: Too bad, after reading a review, apparently, you'll find it funny only if you understand japanese language and culture. Here's the review I got from animenfo.com

Heh, Bobobo is one of these shows that should have never left Japan. It concentrates on pure Japanese humor so strongly, that for nearly every single person from overseas it becomes simply incomprehensible. So it's no wonder that Bobobo is trashed everywhere in english speaking society while being immensely popular and loved in Japan itself. Frankly, if you are determined to watch Bobobo there are at least three points you have to pass, otherwise you will probably hate the show. 1. Be able to speak Japanese language. 2. Know a great lot about japanese culture and err.. daily life traditions -_-;;, I'm not even sure if this is possible if you haven't lived in Japan. 3. Have watched at least more than hundred different anime shows.
I have to say Dragon Ball was a bad show. Dragon ball GT was a bad show. Dragon Ball Z was good for the Saiyan, Frieza, Ginyu, King Cold sagas. The Cooler movies were good. Those few sagas made the series look good overall. GT seems so boring with meaningless fights and boring new villians. DB seem so childesh, Buma seem to be in the show for X-rated purposes.

Weird. Most people find the original Dragonball much more entertaining than the rest. However, we all agree that Dragonball GT was bad, but it wasn't made by Toriyama himself.
King Cold, Cooler, Ginyu Force, Cooler's forces, Frieza, Frieza's men were the best villains on the show. They had a purpose of ruleing the unerivse. Plus they had good character back grounds and goals. Plus it is rare to have all of these men as friends and allies. Most of the villians worked alone. They hated saiyans but it wasn't all about the saiyans it was just ruleing over all. The other villains were just the same about destorying everything and everyone. So if they completed this mission what is there to do in life with nothing around??? STUPID

Toriyama planned to end it after the Frieza Saga but his wife and agent convinced him to continue it. He should have stopped right there with Goku being the legendary super saiyan. After that we all know every other saiyan can become a super saiyan... Lame.
Frieza is indeed the best villain I saw in the entire DBZ.
My favourite DBZ episode has to be the one with Goku's father simply because it was a sad story, and the fight he had with Frieza's men were ingenious. Knowing that his power level is lower than them, he used a lot of smart moves to win the battle against the 4 of them. (like using the power of the strongest in the group on the rest) It was short but it's probably one of the most interesting fight I ever saw in Dragonball.

Naruto- I just can't really stand that anime even when it start it's 1st episode in Malaysia.... Dragonball- ... Is kinda too stupid for me ( Same as Naruto, I don't even watch after I had watch it's 1st episode...) Crescent Love - Don't be fool by it's cover, it is a DAMN BORING anime... Maburaho _ The characters are TOO stupid and boring at the same time.... Tsubasa Chronicles: To tell the truth, I prefer the manga more than anime because manga story is more logical than anime... xxxHolic - Same as Tsubasa Chronicles
Frieza, Cooler, King Cold, Jeice, Burter, Recoome, Goldo, Ginuy and Cooler's men were just cool. They kill people, take over worlds, they will do anything to win and the Ginyu force had style. I see so many groups of villians in cartoons now that have poses and themes like the ginyu force.

You do know that the Ginyu force was a reference to super sentai series already.

I started reading the manga yesterday seeing that no one has fansubbed it completely because it got licensed... It's so weird that it's funny in a way.

@SantaBla: Haven't read the manga (haven't read any manga; not allowed to have any), but I heard it's slightly tamer than the anime. Here's a link to the first and second season OP sequences.
The second season opening sequence was not shown during Bobobo's Toonami run. I did manage to watch the whole series. And you're right. If you don't catch all the Japanese references, it won't make sense. The names (of characters) were pretty funny though.

Can't you just read them off your computer from www.onemanga.com?
By the way I watched one episode of it off youtube in english, the pages I shown above weren't in the anime (maybe only for english version? mmm). Perhaps the joke was too sexual?
I have heard a lot of people complaining about Bobobo, I think it's just a misunderstood series, since it's really not targeted to foreigners, like the japanese references.

Which final fantasy movie you're talking about? Spirits within? That too was made in Japan.
Spirits Within was made in hawaii.
I just kinda skimmed through this, but from what I saw the only animes that I didn't see and think suuuuck are Vol(effing)tron and Inyuyasha.
Inyuyasha was okay until Adult Swim started playing back to back episodes every night for a year and completely burnt me out on it and Voltron just pisses me off.
