I just realized something today.
I've been spending (wasting might be a better word) WAY too much time trying to decide what style should I use.
Now, what I am gonna do is start working on events with the RTP as placeholder (until I finally know WHAT I want to do with the graphs) and release a demo (eventually).
How does that sound?

Working on it my computer has been particularly faulty lately, though. It crashes easily and is very slow. I sure hope it isn't dying. On a sidenote, where did everyone go? I feel lonely, nearly no one posts here anymore D: am I boring or something? I know I sometimes leave this to long hiatuses unwarned, but I have a lot to think about this...

I would love to see the different graphic styles you have though btw. Maybe your thread will get more attention if you post art too-- people like that kinda stuff. It might also even help you decide on what style to go with. : )

As for your computer crashing, if it's a laptop, then I know what you mean... my laptop overheats all the time, it's a real pain.
Have you tried defragging it/ deleting junk/ cleaning the air vents? Another option is disabling or delaying the built-in services, or increasing the memory usage of photoshop slightly of that's an issue.

Okay, so I'm gonna post the art styles here soon. I was out yesterday and today was house-cleaning day (who knew cleaning a bathroom can be so long and tedious?) so I was busy most of the day. My mom'll be giving me her old laptop soon, so I can be up the whooole night xD anyway, my computer is off, and I still have to draw samples from art styles I only thought about, so I am commenting from my phone.

I think I've got these covered. A few twitches in the perspective (front or 3/4?) but the style remains the same.

Mapping:
The biggest issue. I feel that my landscaping sucks (guess what- it really does orz) and that I'm not a capable mapmaker, be it antialiased, pixel, or isometric.

Sprites:
I've only thought a few styles, mostly based after other games, since pixels and sprites are not my cup of tea.

I like the art, Cookie. (But then again, I always do because your art is AWESOME.
The maps look nice, if full of empty air. But I guess that these are WIP, right?
Also, I'm not sure if a round throne room is perfectly logical, but it's very pretty.

For the sprites... I'm not going to comment on them till you actually make them XD

You seem to really lack direction still. One would think you would have a clear vision like months ago. But yeah it is your project and I suppose you will turn it to be something great and worthwhile. Also see it like this, at least you have skills to draw your own art enough good to be used in games.

yeah I suppose I do. I wish I had a clear vision orz but most of the times my lack of skill clouds it and I need a change >A<
Backgrounds are a skill I should've improved but never did orz
I wish I could have more willpower and decisiveness too, because often my motivation decreases quickly, and I end up forcing myself to do things. Currently I am hyped about this, and I hope it'll last, but that's unlikely. >3< also my commissions on Menewsha pile up, and my mom says I can go to the computer max. 3 hours a day, so I use up all my time to finish the commissions, orz So even if it lasts, I can't do anything QAQ also I need to finish works for 2 contests this month and in the meanwhile my parents expect me to learn some programming languages. Also school will begin soon orz I'm drowning in work xD But I only have 3 hours every day. While usually I would have been able to use at least 7, or 8.
And yes, I'm so glad I have artistic skills. My art is something I love and take pride in <3
