How would you go about assigning different sets of enemies to certain areas (forests, fields, beaches, ect.) on the world map? In map properties I only see the ability to add enemies to the entire map, no ability to add them to certain areas.

I want to create classic world map encounters where the enemies change according to the type of terrain, and their difficulty (level) changes as you move to different sections or continents.

Thanks in advance.

You can set up areas of a map by clicking on the map of your choice and pressing Shift+Insert, this will open up the Area Dialogue:
Clicky

Clicking on the Area Position will open this Dialogue Box in which you highlight the area that you want to use for the troops that are there:
Clicky

Once done that ensure that the Troop box is filled in with the Enemy troops that you want and press enter to close the Dialogue if you look in the Map Name area you should see some drop down "Areas" like:
Clicky

Hope that helps tongue.gif

This is a bit off topic, Astos (which, by the way, is a great choice of name and image), but something to maybe think about is whether or not you really need enemies on the world map.

Once upon a time, I was amongst the crowd that believed enemies should be on the world map for all sorts of level grinding mayhem and, while this may still apply to certain games, recently I've debated with myself on whether or not it's even needed. A lot of games now eliminate the enemies on the actual world map, and in turn making the world map available only for the need of travel. This isn't to make the game easier, since you can still create challenging dungeon scenarios, but it does make it more convenient for people to play and get from one spot to another.
