Aight, so I'm having horrible issues with MPEG. I'm trying to make a movie right now (WMM, very basic), but it won't let me import MPEG. And the sad part is that it used to, but now it randomly doesn't. It doesn't even give me a good error, it just says "awefawefasdfasdf.mpeg could not be imported" and that's it. I've tried installing K-Lite codecs and Shark007 codecs (virus scanned of course) and neither of those are working either.
I'm using 64 bit Windows Vista. But this is really weird because the family laptop, which is 32 bit Vista, lets us import MPEG just fine.
The camera I'm using is a Sony Handycam if that helps at all.
I've looked around the internet and nothing is helping, so I figured, you know... people here are smart smile.gif

If you could help me, that'd be SO FANTASTIC biggrin.gif

Are you using "LIVE movie maker" or windows movie maker from XP? XP had various errors and this is well know for WMM.

The original Movie Maker from XP. I don't like LIVE one bit. It's too basic.
It's also important to note that whenever I try and play MPEG in WMP I get the error message "System memory is low, close other programs and try again" something along those lines.
I'm only using about 5% of my memory though when I try to play a video. And I exit out of everything but still the same error.

Okay, how much ram do you have? and btw, both WMM and Live are beyond basic..

I have 3 GB RAM on 64 bit, 2 GB on 32 bit.
And they are pretty basic to me I guess I've been using WMM for a long time. Live seemed like it was more simple but you can't do as much.

My advice to you is to completely drop WMM. There is a much nicer video editor that I used , with alot more customisation, and if you're using it for youtube videos etc you can easily make it in: avidemux. I used it before I got a copy of Sony Vegas Movie Premium 9. Just another option for you. If you want another choice smile.gif

I will try it... I'm just wondering if it is a computer problem, because you know it can't even play MPEG while my other one can with the same software.
Thanks though!!

I think it has to do with your video card not supporting mpeg, and mpeg and wmm work fine for so I think it's your video card.
