Please note this is not the full version of Game Maker 7. Game Maker is a retail software which requires a license. However, Game Maker 7 Lite is a legal trial version of Game Maker 7 which allows you to do anything the full version is capable of except with a few limitations.

As far as I can see almost no difference, mostly on the extensions there's differences but I rarely use extensions. however I would recommend getting 7 for Vista compatibility and most examples and tutorials are going to be GMKs now. 7.0 is the was to go.
About: Well a good friend of mine by the name Zideane found out how to get exes running on school computers so I started this project using my Ecco SOS engine to hopefully modify it to play over a network... It'll give me something to do during the now vacant ICT lessons since I've done all the work <_< I've set myself a deadline of 14th April to get a up and swimming demo. Thank you for reading my sig I will be updating this daily. PM if you want to help or beta test.
Sunday 6th april: Soapy uploaded a video of us playing, he sucks and it shows; he then went to test it out without Hamachi using port forwarding and it works perfectly. I'm going to fix the l-l-l-l-l-a-a-g-g-g-g bug by using a special technique of data sendage.
Sunday 6th april: Can I get a hell yeah? After a long and sweaty night me and my internet wiz friend Soapy got it working over Hamachi, only two shots because I was havin' too much fun =]. Saturday 5th april: And with the close of one day comes progress! I've got a small lobby mapped out and two dolphins (well one right not but it's a slight mod to get two) swimming harmouuniously through the crystal clear waters of The Isle of Tranquillity. Expect some serious mapping soon. Friday 4rd april: Finally decided on working with 39DLL, beginning to modify my SOS engine to play online. Thursday 3rd april: Tried getting some old online games to work, none would cooperate with me so I'm going to have to find other means of online testing Wendsday 2nd April: Started recolouring Ecco sprites to make common dolphins. Tuesday 1nd April: Began coding a colossus squid Monday 31st March: Project started
This may be a long shot with this but the only other builder that I've used of this kind was The Games Factory, I don't suppose GM7 is as simple as that for creating platform games? Just an example of what I mean: Drag and drop item, select from an option as to what it does - If 'Player' Collides with 'Enemy_Attack' then Destroy 'Player'
It would be cool if I could find the CD that I had all the graphics for that and remake my old platform project on that once again.

Not a screen shot, not anything. Can someone maybe tell me what it's like?
I've had my head stuck so far up RMXP, RMVX and Realm Crafter's butt that I really havent had the time to go checking out other makers...
I suggest you to take a look at yoyogames.com to see all the game maker games ever made. don't bother with the ones that have a rating under 3/6 though, they suck.

I posted a few screens of my GM projects, but if your new NEVER start out with RPG's you'll just find it too hard. Start off with Platformers and then work your way up.

If you're looking for examples of Game Maker games, my absolute favourites are Wubly, Seiklus and Hang On To Your Ghoulies!. There's also a platform game made out of 16x16 tiles called Jumper. It started a fad. There were so many Jumper clones back then! I feel old
