So I'm pretty sure you all have heard about the PS4. I honestly don't see any point in making it other than to earn more money. And.. no backwards compatibility? Seriously? -_- I don't think much people are gonna' buy it. Other than fan boys. I'm stickin' with my PS3 xD

What are your guys' opinions on the new system?

I would rather buy a gaming PC. The fat PS4 is going to probably be the same size anyway xD and if it does have PC-like specs, it'd be cheaper to buy a PC of equal caliber for less money anyway.

It feels like this console war is going faster and faster... I don't think the PS3 is even that old yet.

Also no backwards compatibility is a terrible thing. I need to make up for my dead PS1 somehow. >:(

People, you have to learn that the companies don't care about what YOU want. They only care about your money. They won't ever do backwards compatibility cause then they lose money on older stuff (I don't know how but apparently they do). It's just ridiculously dumb how each game company is literally rushing to put their product out first, so much that it's just shit when they DO release it.

If they took the time, like really took the time, took in the opinions of their customers and fans, they could have one of the most badass systems ever. Oh well, here's to hoping for a miracle

New awesome controller but you can also use the older controllers too.
New unique games.

Actually, a company HAS to care about what you want, otherwise they will lose your business. Yes, the primary motive behind business is to make money, but making money involves satisfying your customers enough to get them to give you money in the first place.

Keep in mind though they do that when first starting out, but after being around and a huge hit for as long as Nintendo and Sony have been they pretty much can say and do what they want even if their customers hate it, and they'll still make tons of money cause their previous efforts to get so popular have made it so people will complain but still buy.

I'm a prime example because I bitched about Ocarina of TIme and Pokemon X and Y not being available for DS or DS Lite, and yet I'm STILL gonna buy a 3DS

I'd also like to point out that backwards compatibility means I can buy the system but not the games, cause I can just play my older games on it. That is why they won't do it. I think that's a REALLY bad move on their end

And doesn't WiiU have no Gamecube support?
And isn't the New Super Mario Bros U not really unique; only the fact you can draw unlimited platforms?

I also heard that sony revealed the ps4 first so that microsoft will reveal an even better xbox720. Then sony will improve there ps4 even better than xbox720 and release thus winnin the war against the xbox. Besides the xbox has lost loooong ago. They take too much of yor money. Oh whoops. Correct, GBA games cannot be played on a 3DS

Xbox honestly takes more time to make their systems than the other companies do, hence why they usually get out last. At least, it seems that way considering how awesome the Xbox can be

PS3 had the same issue Yellow Light of Death. I know cause mine got it >.< I also said CAN be so I didn't say it was completely awesome or always awesome

Left my xbox on for a whole day under the tv compartment (got very hot) and no ring of death till this day.
Anyways, xbox has membership which gives them profit.
To make the PS3, Sony had to reduce the price of the console just to sell (which is a huge loss).

In the end, xbox and Playstation both have their faults; more commonly the move and kinect

My opinion is... That yea, im not going to buy it. And honestly, i dont think that it will sell that well.
I think... I guess i think of it more.. as an "excuse" or "attempt" to either make something new, or to compensate for Sony's shrinking glory.

There is no denying that Sony isnt quite what it used to be-- the PS4 or PS5 will prolly never be what the PS1 was. And yet, i kind of feel like Sony is trying to keep proving that it is.


I see it like the iphone 5 or Nintendo's more recent profits. Yes, both are still cruisin', but the iphone 5 is, unsurprisingly, making less money than some of its older versions. Similarly, Nintendo has apparently been making less these days. I dont think it has seen a similar boom from the days when Mario was first really franchised.


Theres obviously a variety and combination of reasons why the PS4 prolly wont be as sought after though.

- Might be too similar to the PS3, not clear what makes it stand out
- Kinda resembles other smart devices more (why get one when you can get the other)
- People seek to game socially more these days, and dont really need an electronic device traditionally made for solitary pursuits
- Too many other gadgets to buy, no games, compatibility issues
- People dont have enough time nowadays, the recent unemployment issues
- People keep wanting cheaper/ free things


Id personally rather save up and buy a tablet or something.

Yeah, there is no backwards compatibility in-built to hardware of PS4. However there is Gaikai providing that. However I can see how it can suck if your internet has a monthly cap.

Personally I think that Sony is out of touch what the gamers really are looking forward to right now. Oculus Rift is already a huge deal considering it is not out yet to consumers and it is already well supported by a various game making companies.

I rather buy into Virtual Reality thing than pay for some overpriced console.

I think if one of these huge companies actually took the TIME to sit down, gather ideas from their fans and customers, not worry about throwing their product out first and focused on design/development, their systems could be ridiculously awesome. Oh, and not being greedy assholes. Make it possible to play old stuff on newer stuff. It has the capability to run a lifelike game but not crappy graphics?
