I'm going to go into placement shock in 3...2...1...
I hope you don't change it TOO terribly much, but reducing some of the board size by making a few of the main forums into subforums would be cool. That whole section down at the bottom for Hero of Legends (I think that's what it's called) seems really unnecessary as it hasn't been updated in at least a year, if not more.
I know it's still a work in progress thing, but these are the suggestions i'd make. Basically, the forum feels overly large, and it could use some shrinking down.
Honestly, I sort of questioned the need for a forum for the IRC. I figured one topic pinned in announcements or perhaps general would suffice for having info on how to connect to IRC, and any feedback about the IRC itself (drama of the day I guess) can go in site feedback.
Then it goes right into game engines. I don't really like this idea too much. What if you just want to play or post your game? It's actually very far down. The point of the support is to help you make your GAME. The creative commons section is smaller than the help ones anyway so you'll still be able to see both.
-Game maker and Game maker coding are in seperate forums, and while it's fine for RPG Maker ones to be split up this way, those 2 don't get enough topics for it to be a pain to sort through.
Indie game maker should just go in General games discussion instead. Not even as a subforum, just remove it outright. It really did not become popular enough to merit its own forum.
I would stick the Event emporium along the makers though, as it's doing a similar function. Or perhaps do something split the event forums and the scripting ones. I dunno, but whatever you do, I'd just do something about that section.
Featured projects isn't really too offensive since it's all the way at the bottom, but I think it's about time to pick some new ones that look promising, or just remove it outright. I'd sort of want to keep the Dracorb Legend, but I half also feel that these could be made in a personal blog

I think I'm about to agree with your whole post.

I will speak to the other IRC admins about this. The IRC admins need one hidden thread (for warns/bans), one public threads (for rules) and we're creating a new thread (for how to connect). Members also need to be able to ask questions, site feedback is perhaps suitable (maybe add something into the description of that forum) If these can be worked around, I would be in favour of getting rid of the IRC forum (I'm currently emptying it of all the old topics). I'll speak to the other admins, like I said, to see what they think though.

I like the idea of Creative Commons being about the game engine forums.

I agree to all these points.

Yeah, I'm in favour of removing it outright, if it's possible.
The forum could look so much simpler and cleaner with these changes.

Streamline Games is closing down and we need to contact Joe re his.
IGM is going in with general games
Rob - would be grateful for feedback on the IRC forum - might be able to do something with subforums or master threads- but wait for your team to discuss.
We want to shuffle CC back up the board - hoping to get back onto this at the weekend - but this feedback is brilliant both of you - helps us a lot.
Yeah, don't change it TOO much because it will start to annoy people, maybe little tweaks here and there.
Maybe, just a suggestion, you could implement youtube video streaming via posts. I don't know how hard it would be, but it seems like it would be a nice feature to have for gameplay videos.
Once we've gotten the forums sorted we're working through things like that but it has been noted Redd Sometimes things like this have to be done, there's been so many things changed and things added over the years that a re-shuffle now and then is kinda necessary to make it flow again.
Thanks Oceans that's quite a contribution of knowledge there, it's like you know this place very well

@Bolded part. I think that if that is not a viable option to the admins, then making it into a subforum inside site feedback might work too.
All other points I 100% support. Especially that part about removing the streamline games.

It's been moved, you'll now find Official Reviews in the Complete Games section and the new Official Preview section is in the Long Demos section.
