Well it's great to be back here on the forums at last, though drawing hasn't been on my mind much while I've been away one thing has sparked it up again. Though the spark was a Trust TB-4200 Tablet I still found myself unable to draw quite as well on paper anymore and this thing has quite a learning curve to it.

Bear with me on this and any C&Cs from fellow tablet users or even non-tablet users would be greatly welcomed.
The first and only one for the time being is a Pirate themed character.

I tend to draw heavy black lines on purpose as I'm trying a painted style and it helps me not go over the lines so much tongue.gif

If I do more I may alter these for use with RM, but lets just see how things go for now.

Holder! Welcome back. Haven't seen you in awhile.

That pirate looks very good. I can't say so much negative things about it. The only thing that do look a bit weird is the handle of the sword. It looks a bit flat.

Other from that, really nice.

Argh I'm terrible at letting my art topics fall behind tongue.gif

Anyway here's one of my characters in the early stages of my drawing process:

A load of things not finished off here, but I'm trying to get her overall look right first before I move on. Unfortunately for some people that liked Yummes recent picture I've decided to downsize her boobs, sorry guys dry.gif

O:! That pic looks gorgeous so far! I love her long and slender figure, it's so delicate yet smexy :3

Wow, you've made insane developments O____O Even in just that sketch I can see like an infinite amount of improvement, and I already thought your art was insanely awesome to begin with! O: I can't wait to see the finished result for this one :3

Sorry didn't see you post there Shadow, thanks for the C&C. Yeah weapons have never been my strong point (That's why I try and hide them as much as I can).

Thanks very much H, like I said many times before I've been looking and learning alot from your work so that means alot coming from you.

I've been working on it a bit more but I'm sleepy and going off to bed now:

Finished off Yumme to a standard where I'm going to leave it for a while:

Also started work on Shukaur, I don't know if I've got her legs and head right though...

I don't know if it was intentional or not, but I notice that Shukaur seems to only have four fingers on her right arm. tongue.gif

For the head, I think you got it pretty much right, considering your style.

For the right knee (in perspective of the character you drew), I think you should show a bit of a knee between the joints. I tried mimicking that pose and I found the curve of the knee.

For the midriff, maybe you should give it a little bit of flab around the bottom? After taking a good figure drawing class at my school, I noticed that the stomach doesn't really curve in a single arc. It might work if she's a skinny person but that doesn't seem to be the case.

THAT IS HAWT. I'm lovin' that Shukaur picture! Everything looks amazing! About the only thing I would point out is... The... Left? Knee... ? Well, the knee that's left from our view, it would be her right knee. I would probably just bend it slightly, since that side of the hip is closer to the ground. Not necessarily a big bend, just a little bend. I'm not sure if that's what Ratty meant or not, sorry if it was tongue.gif Other than that though, that picture is pure <3

-Hug from the clouds.

Has been awhile since I touched my tablet so this is a sort of getting used to it again piece, hence the random name.

Yikes! That's really impressive!

I can only suggest using a pencil with a finer tip. Or retracing with a fine tip pen/pencil.

EDIT: Wow it is quiet on R3,
anyway been doing a bit of tinkering with some styles that I normally use on the SmilePlease piece.

Thanks very much H, thought you would have preferred the painted style more for some reason. I didn't feel that confident about them to be honest, which is why I don't normally post much of my work they normally end up getting put in a folder and forgotten about lol.

Your work is great - silly Holder

The landscape has great movement

The faces I like the one on the left best, softer and real

As for the purple sky- looming and surreal

Keep posting them please,

Decided that the New Costumes topic wasn't the right place for the next couple of pieces that I've done because I'm kinda looking for C&C on them.

The first one was done one month ago in Painter:

[Show/Hide] Only A Smile

The next one is something I've only just finished within Paint Tool Sai, something that I'm actually really happy about getting sorted as I'm finding it the perfect App for myself to use.

Thanks for that lyla smile.gif
I was without a tablet for many years, it was a great when I finally got it as a present, they take some getting used to.

I'm still not really fond of doing landscapes, I've tried to avoid them as much as I can though I've been reading up on a few things and a piece of advice that I found was not to draw the things you can but to draw the things you can't and don't hide these away when presenting a piece.

^^ I've already started my next picture within Sai, and it's Yumme having a quiet moment by herself:
http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j170/Dark_Holder/Yum.jpg

It's based on a really early piece (2006) that I'm updating:
