I'm currently in the process of making a resident evil rpg with my brother. So we've run into many problems due to the fact that we can't pull off certain things that you would see in Resident Evil. My main concern is with the guns. So I have a couple questions regarding that. We plan on making physical attacks in the game as well. That is where the problem lies. So my question is how can I make a bullet system for my game without the use of the skill points/magic points? Also how could I make items in battle activate an animation when they are used? I'd appreciate any help offered. happy.gif

download vampyr SABS 12.zip it has an Action Battle System, and with a little bit of work and dedication i'm sure you can make a Resident Evil out of it. This is for RMVX. I posted it for the sole reason that there isn't anything similar in RPG Maker 2000 or 2003.

replace the "bow" animations and weapon with bullets and a gun, it should work theoretically

I didn't want to have to use the skill system to use bullets but I'll do it anyways. I have found ways to get around using physical attacks and bullets together. Thanks for the help though.

I'll be sure to let you know, man. Only problem now is that I need to switch back to using the Edgar from FF system because my brother wanted to do a weapon upgrade thing so it could be a bit longer of a wait. I'd need some assistance with that too. laugh.gif

I figured out a different way to use my weapons. You will use Mp to fire your bullets and physical attacks cost 0 Mp which solves my original question. Now I have a new question that relates to my weapons. Ok, I want my guns to only be able to only let you shoot/attack when you use the skill ' bullet'. How would I make it so that you can't attack when you use the attack command when you have a gun?

I haven't tested this, but maybe you could do something like:

Monster group page condition:
If Hero uses the Attack command

Inside, you can have a Call common event.

In the common event, use a conditional branch to check to see if the player is equipped with a gun. If it is, turn a switch on. If it's not, set the switch to off.

Back in the monster group page, if the switch is on, then inflict a condition on the hero to stun them for just one turn, maybe with a message "You can't melee with this weapon!" if you want so the player knows what happened.

If the switch is off, no stunning takes place and the player attacks normally.
