You can swim using events!

To swim, call a common event or use a plain event and set it to parallel process and add the following:
*disable the menu.
*Open password functions, and set the directional keys to "face hero..." instead of "move hero..."
*Use the password function to make the cancel/menu button "move hero forward." To create the illusion of swimming, add sound effects and get creative with hero movement for swimming. For instance, make the hero move 2 spaces every time the "swim" button is pressed. For the first move, the hero's speed will be really high, but for the second space it will be really low.
*You can also create a caterpillar system to show ripples in the spots where the hero just left.
*You can use a submarine system too.

dammit. If only I didnt lose the document I had that had the underwater\diving tutorial I found a year ago. Then I could use this swimming combined with diving to make an underwater temple. Like LOZ orcarina of time or any underwater place.

EDIT: Oh hold up a sec. How do you make it where if you press the button you speed up then again slow than again speed up?
