Old-School FF-Styled Characters, Rate me or comment. Options

I tried making some custom characters in the style of old-school final fantasy, they aren't too good since it took me less than an hour to make these on character maker 1999. These aren't my first sprites i have done others before but need to fix the file-type so they don't go blurry. Well i jope to get some feedback comments or something on these, let me know if you like them.

*Note: These were from scratch not edits of FF Ripped sprites, I even made a template for others to use~!*



Red-Haired Male: Arauq Leonade, my main character in the project i'm working on.
Grey Haired Boy in Blue: Name is uncomfirmed, he does resemble Terry from DQM1 and DQ6 alot though, i inspired this character as a parody of him since he's a monster tamer.
Blonde male: Magis Leonade, Arauq's father.
Blue Haired Man: Is the villain of the game and evolves into more demonic forms later on in the game.

Keep in mind these are first drafts and will require much editing to look professional so please don't be too negative commenting it or flame me.

I dont think there to bad, I actually think they look alright and I know there old school so there not likely to look spectacular.
Like you have stated though, they do need a bit of editing so look forward to seeing what else you could add to them.

thanks for the feedback i'm gonna edit them asap and submit them, i've been swamped with playing games i'm going t review and grinding on DQV so i keep forgetting about my spriting lol. i'd have alot more done if i wasn't such an addict to Dragon Quest lol.

No problem, just doing as you asked just looked at the edits and the others you have done, gotta say alot of them are pretty good, much better then anything i could do but, i cant do art

One thing though - stop playing dragon quest lol, im always like that myself, start a project and play games to get ideas for what i would want and then sometimes get addicted to the game im playing lol

I need to start a project i'm working on one right now except i'm not using my comp with rm since i'm with relatives right now but once i get to it i'm gonna make one, so far i'm just brainstorming and writing some storyline down. It's either gonna be on 2k, 2k3 or Vx. Not a fan of XP or its RTP or style, makes for great ABS though.

It's either gonna be on 2k, 2k3 or Vx. Not a fan of XP or its RTP or style, makes for great ABS though.

I always been a fan of rpg maker 2003, have some of the others but never bothered wth them yet, trying to do my own project at the moment but since i cant do art, I'm stuck lol, call me fussy but I dont want to use rtp's that I can just download, rather there all original so I know who exactly to be giving the credits to.

I take it the project will involve the sprites from above?

yep i also have monster sprites i'm made i need to submit, its gonna be an rpg with some monsters you can recruit since i'm a huge fan of monster tamer games and monsters are underrated. So far i've got some of the beginning planned out, just gonna make some sprites and eventually a couple chipsets, then battlers and so on and so on, i want it to include as much self-made resources as i can which means i'll eveentually have to try making music.

Lol, never an easy thing music, I have made some music in the past but not sure if they good or not lol, maybe ill upload them one day when i plan on making the game, Is this game your on about going to be anything like the monster rancher games as i loved them lol.

I want your game lost my copy of monster rancher years ago lol....Yeah a good selection of mini-games and stuff like that could help the game along, it won't be an easy quest but it'll be worth it once it's all done. I'm attempting to make a shenmue game (story between 1 and 2) I have all the ideas in my head and want the game to feel just like a shenmue game) trouble is, i'm not getting the help cause it a fan game lol.

Anyway, think the subject will need to go back to the topic of the sprites you created otherwise the topic may get locked for going off course lol

I made 2 new characters to add with it.

Reyla: my first female character on this set, i don't wanna give away too much about her just yet...

Goblin: a monster that you'll be able to recruit.

Argus the Blademaster Troll, a gigantes oh the characters so far, guardian and protector of Tamor Village, a monster run village hidden deep within the woods of Enchantra, he runs a small swordsman training camp in the village with his disciples goblin and kobold.

Starting to improve allot, i love the old FF style sprites =3

but i think that the head moves to the right and left when walking to much, maybe move it a - 1px ?

i kinda noticed that too but have kind been lazy on it, think i'll do a touch up and submit it.
