Misao was never strong; she can't fight and has some emotional issues, but she has no choice when her father goes mysteriously missing. With the help of her friends, Misao journeys off in a quest to find her father but ends up stumbling in the Dark World. That's when she uncovers a diabolical plot to open the Gates of Chaos and bring back the Chaos Beings. Now not only is the life of her father at stake during this perilous journey, but so is the fate of both the Light and Dark World.
Characters
Misao Age: 18 She doesn't know how to fight and is a bit emotionally frail, so it's up to her best friend, Karen, to teach her how to survive on her own. Her mother died at birth so she shares a very close relationship with her father who is currently missing.
Karen Age: 18 She's full of energy and wastes no time in helping others. She always looks after Misao and whenever a push comes to a shove, Karen is always the one to lead Misao in the right direction.
Cid Age: 38 An old-time friend of Elbert, Misao's missing father. Likes using airships to fly around the world, but they have a tendency to crash often. Probably because Cid is such a horrendous pilot.
Gerik Age: 25 A strong mercenary who wound up trapped in the Dark World. He's currently investigating the strange occurrences in both worlds in hope to stop whatever is going on.

Other Stuff Yes, this game is hard, it's supposed to be challenging. This is just a warning to everyone out there that this game was not made to be easy. But this game does start off easy enough and gradually gets pretty difficult throughout the entire game. You have been warned. Also, despite its difficulty, this game can be beaten without any grinding at all. As long as you fight most enemy encounters throughout the story, you will not need to grind (unless you need more money because you want to buy every single thing available, which is not needed).
