I'm going to add a broken-down old house to the empty area on the right. It'll sit on a deck that has stairs down to the ground level and I'll connect a small pathway to them. This screenshot shows the map from a birds eye view, with the newly added fallen powerlines.
XMO, since you're the only one who posts in this thread besides me lol, do you think you'd be willing to download an executable file of the map when it's done so you can run around and look at everything properly? It could be up to 200MB, however.

Oh awesome, so you'd be able to go inside the broken-down old house, right?
Sounds fine to me, what feedback in particular did you want? Check for loose ends or not-meant-to-be floating items? 0.o (Size doesn't matter... well, Download Size doesn't matter.)

I'm not sure about going inside the house yet. Depends entirely on how I build it. I'm not really looking for any feedback at all it's just so people can see it properly.

Brilliant, in all its glory! =D
About how long (total working hours) does it take to design something about the size of the map you're developing (given the details and about the same amount of items on the map)?

While I'm still sort of here I might as well update this with what I've been doing since October '11.
I was just experimenting with some textures here and it wasn't really for anything but I do like the second screenshot quite a bit so maybe I'll do something with it in the future.

This is my most recent work; I drew the concept up ages ago and recently got around to actually making it.

Last year Arenanet was accepting internship applications and provided artists with concept art to work from. Obviously I'm not applying for the internship now because I'm about a year late, lol, but I thought I might as well make it for fun anyway.
Now, the guidelines specified a limit of 3000 tris and the equivalent of two 1024x1024 textures (I'm using 1 1024, 2 512s, a 512x256 and 2 256s hence not including them in the model sheet).

Brilliant!
You definitely could get a job like that, but I had thought you already got a design job? Maybe I was mistaken, but either way you have the necessary requirements!
