i cant say much but admire it, even more if ur just playing around with it seems like ur main focus is on the head and chest area she looks like a plain ordinary village girl, is huge socks a custom there? maybe the right shoes should lift a little following her movement? it looks painfull

It looks really good, you're doing well with the shading bit. Of course you need to correct the light source (there is a shadow on her neck that implies the light is coming from one direction, whilst her chest suggests otherwise). The colour choice, and clothing design, look quite good. ^^

Hmm I thought it was just her hair casting a shadow there.. but still it does look nice ^^

Thank you for the excellent critique and tips. This was my first time drawing something other than a face and I don't think I did too badly for my first try. I'm having a look see to find lighting and body proportion tutorials so I can perfect things in case Fragments calls for character artwork other than a face which I think it will because I saw some portions of an animation for the title screen. I really want to help them with that. I know that I'm the primary writer, but making artwork is so much fun that its difficult to steer away from. I started sketching a gift art for my girlfriend and I hope I finish it tomorrow after I complete the remaining portraits for Fragments.

Oh wow, it looks very nice. ^^
The shoulder/head proportions seem to be all right, so no problems there. I think that, eventually, you may want to practice on the remainder of the body; if it's going to be something that you'll be needing/wanting to supply for the game you're working on with Fragments. =]

Yes, this is just my style, sorry. Ahaha. Most manga do not use real proportions at all, but stylized proportions instead especially if the artist has a defined style to themselves, and so I'll be using my own manga proportions for most of my drawings unless I adopt a more mature overall style. I did some work on a more realistic proportioned man but it is very messy and I won't post it. I found that I like drawing cute mangaka style better after that experiment. As for my drawings I use a mouse at times and a pen at other times.

Yeah I can understand about style, so sorry if I seemed rude. (I draw manga-style myself so I know how annoying it can be). But I'm just pointing out that the current way you draw, it just seems odd because yeah even if it's stylized I can still find it awkward.
You don't have to take my advice, but that's just what I'm thinking.
Hi. First off, you pick some really nice colors and in terms of color schemes you are pretty good.
But. Hirei is right, anatomically it is not correct. It does not look stylized, it looks incorrect. Its an excuse to say "well its my style so Im going to leave it be". In order to have a nice style, you have to compensate and skew other features in order for it to look correct. Because you are not consistently skewing other body parts, it looks like your incorrectly mapped out your person and made an attempt to do realistic features but then never made it. This translate into a lot of your drawings. It doesn't look like you on purposely made it that way, it looks like you made a mistake and that isnt style. Again, consistently skewing features to compensate one another is what style really is especially in humans and their anatomy. Im all for the anime/manga style but you gotta do it right~
Its cool that you are playing around and stuff, I would just seriously consider studying some more anatomy and then breaking it down and skewing to make it look correct.
Love the artwork and colouring you are doing! The lovely painting look they have really makes them stand out and give them a glow~

I think I'll keep my "mistake style", sorry. Ahaha. Though now I have worked a little more on a defined style and made myself a guide for it. This way I can keep all of the characters in the style. I tweaked here and there until I found something I am comfortable with and looks great to most everyone, except maybe those who like to constrain proportions, sorry about it. I can't please everyone.
Here is the style I'm sticking with. Cheers! It got passed by the game leader today.

Very nice face/head structure there. ^^
I have to admit he's a little on the thin side, but maybe it's because I'm used to seeing a little more broadness in the shoulder area. Either way, very good - and I love the outfit! =D

i dunno why but suddenly i remembered about einstein , ppl said he was crazy but he turns out to be one of the best mind ever.-not related- i know i dont have high/wide knowledge about art , but art are varied and doesnt restrict to anything , so ppl who said this and that about art knowledge makes me -no offense-
@ugaki: nice drawing ,from rough sketch looks like a boy or is it a girl? keep focusing on what u like and ull do wonders

Its a male. I don't design the characters, but go by description from someone else on some of these. And yes, I will not follow rules with making my own style in art, because rules constrain things and make you less creative. The game leader is the one who will make judgement on what my style should be as for our game. The greats like Picasso do not have "rules of proportions" and he was brilliant. I got a new art program last night and I was making sketches in it. People have to remember that I only started doing art this week. I'm new and these are my first drawings in my life, too.... So they will need to be excusing it if they are "wrong" in the first time around.
