Multiplayer Single Machine Co-op Tactial RPG Engine? Options

Hello everyone I was wondering if anyone knew if there where any engines out there that would be able to do turn based Tactial RPG games like Fire emblem and FFT that could do turn based multiplayer I realize that some people have posted about tactical RPG makers BUT I found nothing on any forum or list I found anywhere about multiplayer. I mean I found a script for VX and XP to make it turn based but couldn't figure out if there was a way for me to play with my friends on the same computer taking turns. Same thing I assumed game maker was capable of doing this sort of thing but it would be far beyond my knowledge so I need to find out if there are other options or if I need to start delving into some game maker guides.
