Looking good Q, though I don't know about the legs.
From the way she's positioned the buckle looks as if it needs to be more central to show the twist of her body, the groin area seems pretty long and doesn't really flow into her legs correctly. From guessing I'd say her right leg line needs to come in from of her left leg a bit, especially if you've got her tail going that way.

I love the way you've done the hands, the shape and positioning is perfect.

Only the hair coming out from inside the ears are disturbing. The legs start offcenter, but is not that bad.

In an overall looks pretty nice. I like your style.

I raised the crotch cause I agree that the groin looked far too low. And you're right about the right leg coming in from the left a bit, I'll take another look at it.

The person I'm doing it for had a problem with the hair coming out of the ears, but like, how would the hair grow out for an anthropomorph? So I went with the most logical (easiest) option.

The easiest option is hide the base of the ears behind hair. Long hair just comming out from inside the ears is ugly... in any case is up to you picking up the critique or not.

I've got to disagree with the opinion that it doesn't look cute with the hair coming out of the ears, example:
https://www.binkybunny.com/Portals/0/active...yo_ohki_sit.jpg

Though I suppose if the client doesn't like it then there's really not much choice tongue.gif

That's quite a different context, that thing has no "hair" in the head.

The dude here is trying to draw a human with cat ears and tail, not a fantasy plushie. Anyways, no one said that the girl is not cute as you are implying, Holder.

Q - that is lovely - the tones of the skin are brilliant and I love the "pensive" expression.

You have plenty of movement in the hair, and the detail on the belt - you must have spent ages on that.

I agree though the boots need a bit more shading, or creasing to make them look more flexible.

Not to sound like a twonk here but nothing appears to have been altered since the lineart.

I do like the effect on her shorts, and being picky here but I find it hard to see a light source.

Yeah I'd only really raised the crotch (lineart wise) and didn't touch the connection of the legs. The mid region had irked me originally but I feel with the recession/rendering it works a bit better. Originally, she was a bit taller but I had to make her shorter. I'd cheated and literally cut and moved the legs in PS. The point connecting both the legs could definitely be raised slightly.

The light source is an upper left sky light (Genericness YEH) and it's fairly pronounced on the skin and shorts imo.

Thankies for the input Holder, I did take in what you said and edited the lineart but that edit wasn't reflected in the CG finish.

I think I really should revise how I look at drawing and CGing work as in do a lot of testing and sketching. (Or really just practice more)

This is part of a cover I'm doing for Antifarea. Critique/opinions wanted.

Soldier's Quest

I think the arm on the right (his left) needs work but I can't figure out in what way. I'm also revising the flowing hair when I ink it. His boring pants is chainmail (as in I won't touch it til the CG stage). Is his head too big or too small?

About the drawing in general I can't see anything upgradeable tongue.gif But I can help you in the technique for handling that kind of weapon in chinese staff/spear usage, if you want.

I think I may have figured it out lol. Basically splitting the hands up and I've redrawn the right (is left) arm. I should probably look at some reference, if that's what you meant (you had?).

EDIT: It's meant to be a 2-h sword btw, he's jabbing with it (going for the kill that doesn't leave his upper and lower abdomen vulnerable).

As you drew a pike what I offered was to point you how to hold it to look like he has some technique for using it, as I have some real experience in a few chinese weapons I could point where and how to grab the pike.

But if that only was a placeholder for a great sword... Then you're doing it right with the two hands close to each other as big swords does not have a long long grip.

Well I've finished "inking" it. I decided to leave the hands. I realised I might have exaggerated on the grip after reading what you said leon XD.

It's ok, but as you added that counterweight in the base of the grip and the blade is not really big, indeed you can make the grip a bit shorter. But it looks fine as it is now, I'm talking about technical stuff that hardly someone will notice, lol.
