Okay....so I have this feature in my game that transports you between "worlds" Upper and Lower World and its really common in my game, and I would like to use one of these images:

So when my character steps on it, it shows an animation and then the player sorta of "glows" and then is teleported.

The problem is, I tried using the image I provided out of the event page to select the image, but he can't walk on it. So then I tried putting it into the tileset to see if I could walk on it, and it worked. But I don't know how to make it animate and animate more when stepped on.

Those are considered character sheets, and because of that I'm not entirely sure you can make the character "step on" it, but when you make the event click "through." This will allow the player to walk over, and essentially, through the event, so if you have it on "player touch" they player will automatically get teleported to the correct location.

Yea, I tried as tileset as well, but I can't seem to figure out how to make this work. I tried Player Touch, but the player can't step on it. If I made it a tileset, they can, but no animation of the sheet works...

@ZeroManArmy:
VX format can work in XP? Okay, where do I upload it too though and how do I make it work by teleporting someone when stepping on it?

Could you not then create an animation with a certain tile graphics as the trigger point?

What do you mean? As in a tileset graphic separate for each animation to be shown? If so, I tried that, but uploading them to the "characters" seems to be the only way, making it impossible to step on the graphic, but the animations can happen.

If only a tileset, I can't seem to find a way to animate the tile when stepped on without involving the "characters" event tab to be shown...sad.gif

What I mean is have an event over a tile that when stepped on plays the transport animation. Just copy and paste that graphic into a template for animations and create your animation from that within the database.

EDIT:
I can't seem to get it lined with the tileset it plays the animation off of. Its always a little to the left, or a little to the right...And I can't put more than 15 frames in, which is really short.....

I realise this is probably closed, but I argue this info is still useful, and should be posted.


Have you tried something like this?


I just used paint.net to move the image around, technically the picture for the circle is 1 higher than the event for the circle, but just use a second event and you'll be fine.


And if you want more frames for an animation:
