Its very nice.
although it is a true mysterie how u can change a 2D map like rpgvx into a 3D map.
many people have tried.. none succeded.
I worked on a program in wich people could build a 2D map in a way simmilair to rpg maker. (2D that is)
this map would be loaded in a 3D mode and for every tile on the tilesheet there was another 3D object connected to it
the 2D enviroment was a 12 by 12 grid in which they could arrange tables
when they switched to 3D mode there was another 12 by 12 grid although this grid was 3D
for every tile option we had to makle a 3D object
example:
it checks which 2D image is on the B5cell in the 2D grid
the 2D image on B5 is "3prs_rnd_table.png"
so show 3D object 3_person_round_table.obj on gridcell B5
If you would build it like I did you would need a 3D object for every tile in the game.
and thus people wont be able to create there own custom tilesheets,
and that makes it just like the 3D rpg maker that enterbrain made for the ps2.
If you were truly able to create this in a simple understandable way. then you have shattered the world
of professional games and therefore I doubt it.
I heared rumours that enterbrain is working on a new 3D rpg maker.
in which people can use their own 3D material.
not sure if it will work though, because 2D pixel editing programs are easy to learn in comparison to
3D programs like maya, lightwave or 3D Max.. (they require years of training.)
in order to make your own objects you will need alot of 3Dmodeling skills.
anyway. I hope this isnt a joke.
keep me posted.
PS. I am not a scripter.. just an artguy.
