[searched "Dance Dance Revolution" and nothing came up, so here we go. New thread time!]
Who still plays DDR?
I recently got a dance pad from a cousin, so I've picked the game up after several years (last time I played, Supernova came out, so think five years) The game has pretty much lost it's popularity in NA, but the hardcore players are still around. Dance Dance Revolution X3 seems to be the newest mix, which only came out last year in Japan. Unfortunately it is "temporarily suspended" for North America and Europe, so us outsiders probably won't see a cab for some time, unless it was imported from Japan or something.
In terms of skill, I personally have gotten tons better since the last time I played. Now I can usually get AAs on Heavy (assuming I'm playing on a home version xD Extreme 2 ftw!) or my modified Stepmania, which makes it behave as close to the original Japanese 8th Mix (that is Extreme) arcade machine as possible. So the hitwindows are tighter. Since it's harder, I usually get B/A on Heavy. Sometimes I get AA. And that makes my day

I love DDR! ^^ Me and my cousins will play it regularly (we have a game dance pad for almost every system, lol), and we also go to a local pizza place called Chuck E Cheese's just to eat pizza and play on their big DDR game. It's a lot of fun when we're all together, and I rarely play on my own.
Dancing for me equals passing out, I lead a sedentary lifestyle and I haven't exercised completely since 2009. So, I think dancing (unless it's on the Wii) is kind of out of my limits, besides the dancepad is hard for me, I can never move my stubby legs fast enough.

I never thought of chuck E Cheese's as a pizza place. :\ More like a scary mouse place. 0_o
I love DDR, I've never been able to intentionally get an AA ranking, but I'm more than satisfied with my ability to complete The Last 100 Seconds on Heavy. Even though I usually get a C it's still so fun. XD
EDIT: Hey Strawberry, if you own the Wii DDR like I do then keep playing, the songs suck but later you'll unlock some really good one.

I have the one on the PS2! ^^ I rarely pull out the PS2, but it's worth it for that. XD
Which one? Orange, blue, green, or purple?
Purple = MAX (6th Mix) - Not bad Orange = MAX2 (7th Mix) - Love this one Green = Extreme (8th Mix) - Personal favourite mix, but NA/EU got screwed over with the songs. We got a fraction of what was actually included in the Japanese version Blue = Extreme 2 (8th Mix) - As far as I know, this version only exists in America. It has the other half of songs that weren't released on Extreme 1; thankfully, the more entertaining songs imo
One thing that's notable is that there exists a DDR-clone called Stepmania - if you can get an adapter for your pad, you can essentially play DDR on your computer. Custom songs. My Stepmania has over 1,400 songs - every song from DDR 1st Mix to DDR X3 vs 2nd Mix
I do own a WII DDR one. XD So you can unlock better songs? What's yours called?
It's this one: when you unlock enough you get some really fun songs. Especially the "end game" song, in which you technically beat the game by finishing.

I was talking about the pad, lol. I have two games though, the Orange and the Blue. ^^ I tried to get the others, but it's hard to find them at the local shop any more. =\

I owned three versions of DDR on my old Playstation: The original, The Disney version, and some sequel I can't remember. All of them were awesome, and my family used to hold game nights playing it.
Sadly my Playstation doesn't work properly anymore

Back in 2003 I played the crap out of this game, this is just one of those games that belongs in an arcade and a console unless someone builds some high quality pads like you'd find on an actual DDR machine why bother?
This would be cool for Kinect, haven't played DDR since 2005 though.

I haven't played mine since the PS1 era but its a ritual between me and a few friends to go on one if we're in an arcade, pretty much solely for the Captain Jack song

I used to be HORRIBLE at this game but I played it a ton back in the day. Now I mostly just play similar games like Stepmania and whatnot. But MAN would I kill to get a crack at DDR again.
