That anime theme is really catchy, sounds like something a jamtronica band would do. Which is good :3 Can't wait to hear that battle theme of yours.

Funny you say that...It's just been finished and is currently being uploaded to Soundcloud for you guys to listen biggrin.gif

I am really quite proud of this one....It's rather different. It's no where near near a standard battle theme, or even a boss one....HEHEHE
It's a Rock piece... biggrin.gif
Not only that it has a slightly strange use of instruments, instruments you wouldn't really see work together as well as I feel it does in this piece biggrin.gif

Without further ado...Here it is:

Kingdom OST: Boss Battle Track

I love this one! O_O
When the strings come in sharp at 40 seconds, I was totally in love with the song; it was definitely the highlight. happy.gif

It actually was a BIG risk adding the strings in....It took me awhile to actually keep it in there, I kept changing it, over and over again with different samples/tunes ideas. Not one of them worked.
It was in the end down to the developer to say whether he wanted it or not. He definitely seemed to like it

NB: Just to inform people that the tracks to do with Kingdom will be removed and turned into demo's from tomorrow onwards due to a request from the developer who hired me. Can't blame him really biggrin.gif However as long as Jens doesn't mind I'll be keeping the full tracks for his song up. tongue.gif

Aw... Oh well, I can understand that! ^^

Yeah, sometimes you get something just right but then edit it until it is just not right, lol. I know the feeling. ><
Either way, it turned out great and I was pleased to hear it and fall in love with it. XD

The strings coming in where indeed a nice touch, as X-M-O said. I feel like it doesn't really pick up enough to be a boss theme, though. It's not like it's sluggish, but considering it's purpose, a bit more drive would be nice in my opinion. Regardless of that, it' still a good piece of music. happy.gif

This was originally written as a standard Battle Theme, and it was what I originally had in mind upon writing this track...But it was a bit too heavy in the developers opinion. So it became his Boss Battle Theme. smile.gif

Another track for you guys to listen to and critique.
I'm currently working on a Fantasy Music Pack. The packs will be available to purchase in the near future.

I love the melody lines, and whilst you have great music in this one, you really don't go anywhere with it. =\
I know it's a small village theme, but without percussion you have to do something more to the song.
I do love the idea though, and the different melodies put together. ^^

Thanks for the feedback X-M-O. smile.gif

Always great to be told I needed to add something, which is exactly what I needed to kinda ensure this track is as high quality as possible.

I was trying to go as natural as physically possible, to avoid the "synth" feeling. I was debating adding in some form of hand percussion such as a bongo drums etc...I'll edit this post later with the updated track.

Not to disagree with your comment, but for me it would depend on how it's used:

It wouldn't work well with a medievalish style town in a sword/sorcery rpg, but I can see this fitting with a city theme for a futuristic / sci-fi styled game, where the character is walking through part of the main district, with neon flashing lights advertising tatoos, pubs, shady deals, and other business ventures; not really a menacing part of town, a bit upbeat and energetic, but not so much that it's really bustling, either, but certainly quite more lively than a quaint countryside village.

At the same time, the track is a bit too short, which means it will easily get repetitive if the area that is playing this is exceptionally large. My recommendation is to flesh it out a bit more, extending the track to 3 or 4 minutes with different pitches, or keep this dedicated to a small area of town that can be explored and crossed relatively fast.

Wow...I have never seen that track as that before...ohmy.gif
It was designed for a small village...I closed my eyes, which is how I wrote my tracks, and I see a small village.
For those who have played Mists Of Naladia, there is a town there which is kinda similar to how I based this track, as an Ode to the track written by Kevin Macleod. Completely different theme and actual music I will add, but similar feeling. I'll try and find the track and will show you guys smile.gif

That is very very true, which is great because it means that my tracks have more than one use, which is what i'm hoping to achieve.
Okay so I've changed the track slightly:
1. I am now using an ensamble of French Horns instead of a single one which gives that track a slightly fuller feeling, perhaps more matching to a town theme.
2. Added a variation of the tune for the french horn, to ensure that although there is some repetition it is broken up ever so slightly to avoid people finding the track overly repetitive.
3. Added in some minimal percussion from a basic bongo beat.
4. Added in a staccato Cello Rhythm, just in the background to flesh out the track more.

FMC: Small Village/Town Theme
EDIT:

And yet another track WIP I've added:

Robot March

All right, so I like the small village theme a great deal more now. ^^
I would recommend another change though, primarily to the French horn ensemble. It currently sounds rather loud for a small village, so to balance that, but maintain the full sound of an ensemble, you might want to try taking the French horn into three parts (one part being exactly as it is, but slightly quieter; one part being an octave higher than the first; one part being an octave lower than the first).
Hope that makes sense. Either way, it came out much better and less repetitive this time (though the repetitive bit has now become the French horn melody). =]

The Robot March slowly gets better and better, but then it ends! Ah! XD
It's a WIP, so I know it's still being worked on, but I would recommend having a deceptive cadence just a few seconds after the current song's ending. wink.gif

Okay, so I think I've finished The Robot March....HOWEVER...Exclusively for XMO, and named after the Director herself I introduce to you all now:

The XMO March wink.gif

You wanted an imperfect Cadence there we go tongue.gif

You did an amazing job! ohmy.gif
I wasn't sure you knew what that even meant, lol.
Now I have two songs named after me. XD
(Now you should do an X-M-O Ballad; it should resemble a strange, and possibly spooky, marriage between Someone Like You and Hey, Soul Sister.) tongue.gif

Oh, since you've updated the Robot March, have you updated it online so I can hear it? ^^

The only difference between your track and the Robot March is the Cadence.
(I did a Diploma in music....I will point out that you killed me and GayBrownies with that Cadence. As trained musicians we hate imperfect Cadences.
GayBrownies is refusing to listen to the XMO March tongue.gif (she hates this sort of cadence tongue.gif)

Also...I think I might be able to accept your challenge watch this space biggrin.gif

I know many musicians, and they are usually unable to pull it off (and I only know a few that don't absolutely hate it, lol), so I expected that.
I have always felt that it is my job to move people out of their comfort zones. Of course, as long as you are able to do it well, then there is no need to challenge you with something like that. tongue.gif

Ah, so you didn't make any other changes to the WIP march?
Cool. =]

Oh yes, accept my challenge! O_O

I do like the pieces that your doing, so damn catchy but I cannot for the life of me listen to the imperfect cadence version of the robot march.... Have to sing the last note in my head drives me crazy lol. The anime theme just makes me dance like I do when I play Sonic and I love the head bop dance tongue.gif
