Was I never really show my art here and was curious on the critiques and opinions of you all as well as maybe some tips or pointers on my form and style.

Yes some of these are anthropomorphic/furry looking things so please be merciful.

All of these are digital arts made with Paint Tool SAI for those wondering.
Equine Anthropomorphic

And now for some ponies because I draw those...
Poneh

And my Hare character with awesome goggles.
Bunnay

You might want to brush up on human proportion and anatomy a bit. I totally see what you are trying to do but drawing anthropomorphic creatures requires a great understanding of both human proportion and the animal you are drawing anatomy. You have to be able to properly fuse both creatures into a creature that makes sense anatomically. I would seriously suggest just picking up a book on how to draw people and work on those for a bit. It might sound boring but it will help spruce up your style and make things seem more natural (which is probably what you are hoping for!). Things just look wrong because the proportions aren't correct. As for coloring its just best to worry about that later. Its always good to post your art though thanks for sharing!

Side Rant:
Also I realize that i tell a bunch of people to draw more realistically and the reason I do it is because it will perk up your style so much. Before I actually sat down and tried to draw people realistically I still thought I was a good drawer and people said I was too. But when I would draw things such as people or animals it always seemed off. Like I would try for hours and I wouldn't get it. After doing some realistic stuff some things just fell in place and that is where I started developing things like style. Drawing in an anime style is just going to lead to something generic because you don't have the framework down. Learning how to draw more realistically at first will develop your style into something unique that no one will be able to match or copy. (Which is really really good in the art world!!!!!)

One thing you should try to also do is expand your drawing capabilities. Just sit down with a piece of paper and a pen and draw something you have never drawn before. It is going to look shitty but just keep practicing. Eventually you will gain experience on how to draw something new and then you will apply that to a bigger piece.

Also I dont know why no one will post in this thread this is a good art thread!

Thank you for the long waited on feedback. This is all really positive and helpful advice. I try for realistic but at the same time I am mildly inspired by cartoony art too so anatomy and body builds tend to get exaggerated or ignored at times. I do think I will look up a few anatomy references on the side and brush up. I'm not sure why anyone replied. I guess it's just a slow week for the forums or they don't like it? Thanks for all the advice though.

No problem! Its not that you don't have great art ideas is just that you need some practice. I really can't wait to see your journey as an artist because there are some really interesting concepts and styles going on; it just needs to be polished. And yeah the art forums are a bit slow I wish people would post more in eachothers' threads! XMO is probably lurking somewhere!

i don't like posting in art threads much cuz they have a tendancy to die lol... or if i post art, i've had several times when people get upset/ mad/ ignore me and talk to everybody else, lol..... idk why... : ((

..Anyway, yes; i think u might want to practise ur anatomy a bit more. (' v ') I already think it's good, but studying skeletal structures rly seriously helps. It's like learning how light acts before drawing water-- once u know more and understand the underlying basics, things are really much easier.

i also think.. u might want to lightly sketch out the base/skeleton of a figure before u flesh it out! And also maybe practise ur shading. (' v ')
It really helps to get the anatomy right... i used to not do it until i asked my sister why so many of my pictures looked odd... LOL. But once u try it, u can really see a difference.
As for shading, just pwactise. Think of the 3-D form of a figure... think of how the light hits the surface. A lot of people have diffculties w/ going too dark or defining objects-- so don't be afraid to use lighter or darker colours of shades in areas.

idk if u want to colour more realistically btw, but things that might help are laying down a medium tone for the background, before shading. Like medium brown, medium gray, medium blue, etc. Another thing that might help is to gradually lower the opacity of the lines as u shade; if u reduce the lineart opacity to 0% and have trouble recognizing shapes, then u probably need to define them more. Real-life doesn't use lines. : )

I haven't stopped by to reply yet, but here I am now! XD

bacon really always gives good advice, and did a great job again with the advice given to you. ^^
He mentioned getting into the colour details later, because the anatomy is more of a priority, but since that's one of the only things he didn't cover I actually have something to reply about! tongue.gif

Of the first five images (under "Equine Anthropomorphic") the last two have the best colour/shading schemes applied to them. The first three seem to have been textured and coloured, which isn't always bad, but if you can look at the image and say "it was textured by XYZ filters, which are defaults in XYZ software" then it needs a bit of work. =]
I'd personally stop using default textures altogether and work on texturing/shading similar to how you've got it in the last two images (still talking about the "Equine Anthropomorphic" spoiler tag), which appears to be brushed instead of having a texture applied to the layer (I'm not familiar with how Paint Tool SAI works, but I know I could do those texturing and shading techniques in just a few clicks in Photoshop).

The second image of your "Poneh" spoiler tag looks the best in terms of colour and shading/effects. I really like that one the best. =]

Nice work on the Bunnay ones as well. XD

Thanks, the Equine ones are really my most recent and probably best works. The pony ones a bit recent but didn't put as much work into them. Thanks for the advice. I was using some texture effects I may veer away from. I am sure Photoshop is better than SAI if not great when using both to enhance an artwork. I've used Paintshop, *doesn't own photoshop so can't really" to enhance and add better lighting to my works before so I am sure that it would help. Thanks for all the positive feedback on these. Was really nervous about posting them.

You're welcome. ^^
Oh, and I certainly wasn't implying that you require Photoshop to get perfect effects, etc. You can use almost any software to do it, it just depends on how well you know and are able to use that software. =]

I had normally only done flat colors over shades so now that I am shading and texturing I am in a new territory of arting again. Always something new and fun to find with it. Has me drawing every day

Edited and Updated. Here are some new things I drew.

I love the brilliant colours! ^^
You should make a different stance for each of them, and give them specific characteristics that set them apart from either other (aside from just their colours). =]

You need to make your colors more vibrant. Right now you are using dull colors and as a result the coloring seems pasty. Try using colors way more saturated when it comes to highlights and shadows.
Secondly, when you do highlights and shadows, you need to change the hue of the shadow as well. Dont just do a darker red, do a dark purple or something along those lines. Same with highlights; use different hues it will make your coloring look more dynamic.
Finally, you should shoot for something more basic when it comes to colors. Dont try and blend.

As for your proportions keep working on them!

You know, bacon's right about the colours looking pasty. D=
I still love the hues, but the shading and lighting does need work as bacon mentioned. =]

(Just didn't want to have you feel as though you are getting mixed messages from feedback/comments, lol.)
