Well I just noticed the text under the screenshot. It sounds like a cool plan, I'm genuinely interested in seeing how it turns out

Amythist Town, the first gym town. The Amythist Gym is run by a man named Antwon, who specializes in Bug type Pokemon.

It does.

It fits more with the rest of the map. The other mushroom looked too much like something out of a sidescroller game.

No comments on the map I posted? I don't like people who post their work without considering any work posted before their post.

I'm sorry, it's just honestly I know nothing of Pokemon or the style of graphics.

I really can't say much about that Pokemon-styled map. It looks just like any other map I've seen in Pokemon. That's not a bad thing. If it's a pokemon-ish game you're going for, it certainly fits and there's not much wrong with it.

Testing out a little system. You can actually click on various things in the room to examine them. The cursor is a WIP. It's designed to clearly show the area you're clicking on.

You didn't post anything on the previous screenshot either ladestitute, you shouldn't talk like that to others when you too didn't follow the rules of the thread.

@Rast

So it's possible to move first person style or the game is all event based going from scene to scene?

Looks cool for detective style games smile.gif

It's all event and scene based. Most areas have gratuitous amounts of dialogue and exposition, but some areas(like that one) will allow you to search and examine things on your own.

Well, I'm hacking a FR vanilla base and I plan to use tiles that I make myself from scratch.

Finished mapping nearly all of Amythist Town. Just little things left now, like, scripting people events, aside from the big thing: Working on the workings of the gym, such as the battles.
