"Call me Rita." The woman finally introduced herself, a smile forcing itself into her face. "I'm a pirate, yes, I am the pirate Puella Magi." She mocked. Jokes weren't the same when she spoke them with her empty voice. As always, she still liked Elly, she was really lively.
Rita faced forward, and looked at the Pyotr piling up. "Shall we?" She asked, scaring off one of the familiars that had gotten too close.

Erin's suspicion faded away a bit when Rita made a joke to Elly, but was still active. "I... um, cleansed your soul gem. That's what you do with a grief seed. It absorbs your gem's corruption and leaves it clear." She explained to Elly, giving the grief seed to her. "Keep it, you may need it later." She smiled at Elly and got up, summoning her spear. She ran to the strange familiars and slashed one, causing the others to become angry and charge at them.

Elly pocketed the Grief Seed, she wasn't sure what it was all about, but maybe Onii-san could explain it after they saved him. She felt light, renewed, stronger. She summoned her hammer and threw it like a boomerang, destroying several one eyed nurses with a single throw. This witch has Onii-san's magi powers? I will smash her face in!" Elly said as she caught her hammer again. She jumped forward, landing between Erin and Rita and smashed a nurse into the ground. These pathetic monsters would not stop her from saving her Onii-san!

Rita slashed one Pyotr after another, she knew they would not have access to the doors leading to the witch until they defeated all the familiars. The little monsters were no match for her skill with the rapier, something she had practiced so much with. She almost slipped in the whipped cream floor, but used that to her favour, sliding under a familiar while slicing it in half. She promptly got up, two doors were in front of them: a pink one and a blue one.
"Which way?" She asked, examining the doors.

Erin watched Rita kill familiar after familiar, with a skill level she'd never seen before. Her movement was smooth and continuous, her attacks extremely efficient and her weapon was like a natural extension of her body. She had surely been a magi for a long time, probably longer than Erin's or Koyuki's times. She looked older as well, Erin would say about 20. Why was she a magi at such old age? What had her wish been? Questions invaded Erin's mind as she killed a group of minions with a swing of her spear.

Elly ignored the new Magi, whoever she was, she was just another obstacle between her and Onii-san, if she tried to get in Elly's way, then she would face the hammer! Elly landed behind Erin and brought her hammer down, smashing a familiar that had tried to sneak up on her. "What do you mean which way? Elly doesn't know these things! Let the older girls handle it!" Elly waved her hand, indicating Erin and the new magi, what was her name again? Elly couldn't remember.

"Let's go through... the pink one." Erin said, opening the pink-colored door. It showered her with light of the same color as the door, as she passed through it.
The room after was full of candy, again. Erin sighed. It was a bit too much to fight with that smell that made her stomach yearn for food, but she would manage.
A single line of familiars began to fall through the sky, or rather roof, landing on the ground and beginning to attack. A door was set on the start of the room- Erin tried to run up to it and open it, but it was locked.

Rita slashed through a Pyotr that jumped at her and launched herself at two others. "The doors are locked until we defeat all the monsters." She explained, reaching the otherside of the room and climbing to a giant doughnut. She jumped, launching herself at the defenseless monsters. She'd kill them at a fast pace, so they could just end this witch fight.

Elly followed along quietly, why were these things so tricky? She just wanted to save her brother and maybe smash a monster or two, it wasn't too much to ask was it? She brought her hammer down, smashing several minions with a single swing. A few thoughts occurred to Elly, what if this witch did not have Onii-san's ring? What if it was not enough to wake him up? This was all too much to think about, and Elly just wanted to smash this witch and whoever caused this problem in the first place.

Rita watched the doors unlock and open by themselves. The pink one and the blue one, they were tricky. She knew the right path was mostly through blue doors, but what really mattered wasn't the door's color, but the color of the light coming from it. Just as she expected, these were switched. The pink one gave blue light, and the blue one gave pink light.
"The blue one." She said, and passed through it. They were now in a room with a staircase, having a door at each end. Again, Pyotr rained from the ceiling. Rita readied her weapon, prepared to strike.

But Erin was faster. She launched herself at the monsters as soon as she passed through the door, swinging her spear at them, slicing countless at once. By the time she'd tired herself out, only a few were left. She let her legs give in, and sat in the ground, heavily breathing.

Elly jumped forward and smashed the few remaining monsters. She placed a hand on Erin's shoulder and gave her a very familiar grin. "How do you expect to keep up with my Onii-san if you tire yourself out so easily?" She turned to the new magi, Rayta? Was it? "Hey, you, you seem really familiar with this place for some reason...." She walked up and looked in her one good eye suspiciously. "....so you lead the way, and no funny business or else. I will save my Onii-san and you will not stop me." Something had changed in Elly, there was no longer any time to play around, she would have to save her brother and fast.

Rita looked as the doors unlocked and opened all alone once more, it was sort of eerie. She passed once more by the door with the blue light, and found herself in a white hallway. Only a narrow part was passable, and the rest was made of floating bottles of medicine, filled with a mix of pills and candy. A few Pyotr were along the path, but not many, it was fine. The hallway seemed to go on forever and ever, why couldn't this witch's maze be linear like all others? Charlotte was an awful witch, why did Rita have to fight her over and over again? She had to make this the last, she promised herself. Even if that meant her own death.

Erin watched the long hallway unfolded before her eyes, white and eternal. For the first time in that barrier, the scent of too many sweets faded. They were locked in tight bottles, mixed with different sorts of medicine. "Huh, is the labyrinth over yet?" Erin asked, looking towards Rita as she shook her head in denial.
"Too bad, but you'll lead us the right way, won't you?" She smiled, stretching her spear to kill a Pyotr nearing them.

Elly was very tired of this maze, it was taking too long and her Onii-san was lying on a bed helpless while they played around. She turned to the pink magi. "Where is the end of this place? I'm going to smash this witch with a single attack! We don't have time to play around anymore!" She started running down the narrow path, smashing aside any familiar that got too close. If Onii-san died because of this witch....Elly didn't even know what she would do.

"Hey, wait up, Elly...!" Rita ran after Elly, she knew the danger of running around inside this particular barrier. But, it was too late. A laughter was heard and the hallway melted beneath their feet, revealing another room full of sweets, with three tables set in the center of it. A doll was sitting on a chair, looking helpless. That was it, the witch Charlotte. She did not move, she never did.

Erin tried to steady herself in vain when the hallway faded out, falling squarely on the doughnut floor. "Ow ow ow..." She complained, she'd hit with her soul gem down. She got up and examined the room. No witch was visible anywhere, only a sort of doll on a high chair, but it was stopped still, would a witch be that defenseless? But it was the only thing that could be.

Was this the witch? It was defenseless at the moment, Elly wouldn't wait! She jumped up and slammed her hammer into the doll, knocking it into a wall, she followed up smashing it into the doughnut ground again and again, each time more force was put into the swing. Finally she jumped into the air and increased the size of her hammer three times, as spikes erupted from it. "Die, and give me back my brother!" She yelled and swung down, demolishing the doll. She walked away and grinned at Erin. "Find the ring, we can save Onii-san now!" Elly looked over he shoulder just as the gigantic worm clown looking creature slammed into her. She was able to swing her hammer up in time to avoid the devastating bite, but the force of the blow sent her flying into one of the walls.

As Charlotte faced in their direction, Rita climbed to the highest table, catching the witch's attention quickly. As the spotted worm-dog flew her way, she jumped and sliced through it, making another one come out of the dead's mouth. This was the dessert witch's method of attack- but she slowly lost her energies over time, eventually dying.
Charlotte was blindingly fast, even faster than usual, had she eaten Leon's ring? This could be bad, she'd be draining his energy, and who knows what'd happen if he became a wizard inside another barrier.

Erin ran to Elly, avoiding lightning fast hits from the wormlike witch when they got too close. She'd never seen a witch like this, that was so tricky as to have a harmless fake form, and to really be something so potentially deadly as... that.
"Elly, are you alright? Can you move?" She asked the young girl, she'd taken quite a hit, but had at least managed to defend herself. If she hadn't, well, the witch might've eaten her whole.

Elly stood up, she was shaking and a bit weakened but nothing major. "I'm fine, let me go. I'm going to crush this thing!" She was probably going to just get in the way, but she could not let this thing survive, she wasn't going to just be a side character! She would do something and she would prove that she was useful! She waited until the worm came out of it's own mouth and then struck down with her hammer, but she had already seen this thing attack, she flipped backwards smashing the next worm in the bottom of the jaw, knocking it into the air. "Peeta! Hit it!"

A small laugh wormed its way out of Rita's throat as Elly called her name. "My name's" She started, flinging herself upwards. "Is Rita!" She summoned dozens of swords. "Now don't you go around forgetting it." She fell. And fell. All of the other rapiers followed her as a sort of spiked trap for the monster. Charlotte had no more chances, she was too tired to even move. This battle was hers to win.
Everything hit the monster at once, shredding it to fine pieces of a smooth fabric. But then it happened.

Another worm came out of the shredded fabric, aiming directly at Rita. The magi stood frozen, clearly victim of the unexpected attack. Erin took advantage of the worm's distraction to hit it from behind as it began to close its mouth around Rita, with the largest size spear she had. And suddenly, it was over. The barrier began to melt around them, the only proof that there had been a witch there moments before being a grief seed, two cards... and a soul gem.

Elly sat down hard as he transformation faded away, even with the soul gem cleansing she was really tired. She wanted to reach over and grab Onii-san's soul gem but she couldn't even move. She fell backwards and lay on her back looking up at the brightening sky, it was probably around noon at this point. Had so little of the day truly gone by? Elly was too tired to contemplate such things. She decided it would be best to just close her eyes and forget it all for now.

Rita landed in the ground smoothly, took a few deep breaths and began to walk away. She needed a good rest, some water on her face and maybe a drink.
Had Erin Konohaki just saved her life? Rita knew she would, but... it felt odd. All that time hating her, but this changed perspective.
Or maybe, maybe she was once more setting everything on Rita's shoulders. Not letting her die peacefully when the time came, again. Yes, that was probably it. More than probable, it was easy to believe in. Rita ran towards her home. She needed to rest.

Erin picked up the ring with trembling hands, holding it close to inspect it. Yes, that was definitely Leon's ring! A smile appeared in her face, as she jumbled the cards and seed inside her pockets and broke her transformation. She picked the exhausted Elly up and ran towards Koyuki's home, her legs almost giving in several times, or tripping in the unsteady floor. She was tired, but she couldn't give up, not now. She arrived at her destination almost dropping to the side, and lay Elly in Leon's bed next to him before putting the ring on his finger. It reminded her stupidly of something else that made it a very embarrassing task, but she still did it. She held his hand. "Please. Wake up..."

Leon opened his eyes and blinked slowly, Erin was sitting above him giving him a very concerned look. He was still very fuzzy about what was going on, he remembered floating in an endless comfortable void for quite a while. He felt a heavy form next to him and looked over to see Elly sleeping next to him. After floating in the endless void he felt heavy and uncomfortable, but after looking at Erin he realized it was all worth it. "Am I still dreaming?" He asked with a grin.

It took Erin's brain a moment to process what just happened, Leon was awake and fine.
"No... no, this isn't a dream,.. but it is so much like one..." A smile opened in Erin's face when she threw her arms around his neck to hug him. "Please..." She asked, her voice trembling. "Never leave me again."
A single tear fell from her cheek, and exhaustion caught up to her as she fainted, still holding Leon close to her.

Leon was unsure of what was going on, why was everyone so tired and worried about him? He rolled out from under Erin's arms and stood up, stretching, it felt like he was in the same position for hours. He walked out into the kitchen to find Koyuki cleaning up the Witch's Wall. "So, uh, what is going on with everyone?" He asked with a laugh. "They are acting like something terrible happened, and yet I feel like I slept through it all."
