I'm currently working on a casino in my game, and I'm fishing for ideas as to what other games I can include. I already have:

Blackjack
Slot Machines- timing/skill based
Roulette (kinda simple)- pick either even or odd or a specific number, it randomly selects a number from 0 to 99, you win if you were right.
Dice Game (kinda simple)- guess the total that he's gonna roll on 2 6-sided dice, win if you're correct.

The other ideas I have are not simple, I'm trying to implement them, possibly in a future version of the game, but for now they are not feasible.

What else should i include?

umm.... Plinko? (nowait, that's not a casino game, that's a price is right game...)
Yahtzee? (no, that's not a casino game either...)
UMMM....... Fancy feathered ladies show? (that's not even a game! That's just a las vegas casino thing!)

Okay, I'm out of non-existent ideas. Are there even any other games available to be played at a casino? Maybe with some research you could find some more games to implement? *has only gone to a casino for the buffet and some random woodcarving expo*

I've not been to a casino but I thought they held quite a variety of card games there, almost definitely sure they'd play Texas Hold'em.
Maybe RD is onto something, be pretty good if you could actually buy something with your winnings. The various types of liquor could be some buff/debuff system, though not sure how that'd work without some luck stat or something.

How about a game where you try to guess highs or lows in a sequence of cards 1-9. Saw that in a BOF casino game.

Basically there's a row of cards (up to 9). You decide how far in the row you'll guess to try to get expontential earnings.

So lets say you pick 5.

Now the first card is 1.

You pick high or low to guess if the next card will be higher or lower. Obviously you pick higher. The next card is 7. Next you pick lower. But the next card is 8. You bust. Get it all the way through and you get higher earnings. Guess more cards and the jackpot is huge.

The hidden ball game is always doable. Show the player where the ball is hidden, then switch the bowl (or whatever is hiding the ball) around and let the player guess which bowl has the ball. It's also easy to give this game difficulty levels and you can build upon it easily to add new elements of gameplay.

@Jiggly Hmm, well I like the idea of Yatzee even though it's not really a casino game, but I'm not sure how I'd implement it in RPG maker. The rolling 5 dice is easy enough, but keeping track of score... that would be a little difficult. Any ideas?

@RD It's a good idea, and I appreciate the input, but I don't want to include binge drinking in my game. I'm personally against it, so including it in my game would be very hypocritical.

@Kaust, I would love to use Texas Holdem. Any Idea how I would implement this? I already tried the poker script in the scripts library, it doesn't work.

@Titanhex I've seen that game in Brave Fencer Musashi, and i really like it. I completely forgot about that one. Thanks for reminding me! I've done it in past RPGs, so I already know how I would go about it.

@Cleril Yeah, that seems like something I can do. I'm wondering if it would be better suited in my "game room" than in the casino though, since it is a game of skill. I don't know, because technically my slot machine is also a game of skill, but since it's a freaking slot machine, it has to go in the casino.

Hm, rule of thumb, only put yourself in your game as much as you need to. I myself am not a religious person but in my game Duel I have a main character as a religious man. As my art teacher says: "Perspective, perspective, perspective."

If binge drinking makes the game fun without ruining any theme of the game, then it's irrelevant that you do not practice binge drinking. If the design works, it works.

Well there's a difference between not practicing something and being completely against it. I'm not trying to be an advocate against it, nor do I want to force my beliefs down anybody's throats, but I also don't want my game to have anything related to binge drinking, whether or not it would be a fun mini game.

Fair enough, simply adding my two cents, thanks for taking it as such!

Roulette you could do pictures (for animation, you'd wanna do about 3-5 blurry in-motion spinning pictures in addition to the start picture, and the 99 or so you land on)

Evens/Odds, Red/Black (2x each). Or specific numbers or 0, for which the payout is multiple times the amount for evens/odds (something like 50x each). You can also stack the odds by putting money on two or more zones (raises multiplier but reduces your chances).

As a general rule, you don't advertise binge drinking games on rpgs, since children might possibly play. Though I can't myself say this, as it would be hypocritical, since some of my endings are beyond disturbing (the hero can at one point go totally nuts and start killing the party).

Hmm... that's a lot of pictures. I supposed I could lessen the numbers to like 30, or something.

How would I allow betting for multiple zones at once? Would I need a script? Or can it be done with events?

And I don't necessarily agree with you, ironically. I think the most important rule as a amateur game maker is to do what you feel is right for yourself. After all, most of these games are made for the enjoyment of making them, rather than profit. If the game is not appropriate for children, then so be it. There are ratings for a reason. I would never frown upon anyone for including binge drinking in their game, just like I don't frown upon people for actually binge drinking. It's just something I don't want to be a part of.
