let me show you a 3D rpg maker software, called
Maker3D



Maker3D is a powerfull 3D RPG maker environment.

The software is designed to provide user-friendly and familiar RPG creation tool for the maker-community. Software offers an easy, self-documenting clickable/writable scripting system based on BASIC programming language. With chipset and tileset based map editing, you can easilly create the universe for your game. To use the application, no programming skills needed. Maker3D ships with large built-in content, including tilesets, chipsets, monsters, avatars. Everything, you need.

Select-and-click based level edition

Just select a model from the left list by clicking with the mouse, and click on the map. Its so simple to create your rooms, cityes, houses, caves. Select a pen, and paint your ground. Select a texture, and change the ground tiles. Just like in the old 2d rpg maker softwares, Maker3D offers an easy editor system to create your maps within minutes. You need more than the built-in chipset and tilesets? No problem. Maker3D offers support for the most popular object and texture formats, including .3ds, .obj, .c, .jpg, .bmp, .tga


Built-in character creator wizzard

Select the hair fashion, select the panties, select socks, shoes, gloves, etc... In Maker3D, you can just simply click together your heroes, NPC-s, and enemies. You can simple add your textures too, and the finished models does not needed to be exported: they just work. You viewing the characters in real time while you editing them, you can rotate them with the mouse, and check them from multiple directions.

Documentation-free knowledge

Handling Maker3D is even simplyer than handling the old 2d rpg creator softwares. Just check the example game, read everything wich is writed out to your screen, and put your game together.

Easy script/event editing

You can place your scripts on the world map, and you can simply write them. You not need to learn Maker3D-s syntax: just click on the command! For example, to create a script wich loads a modell, just click on the command LOAD_MODELL, select a modell from the pop-upping content browser, then point on a location on the world map. You can use variables, cycles... FOR, IF, you can build up your scripts with the help of the famous BASIC programming language. After you click or type a command, the command's syntax appears, and a tiny example that shows the working of the specified command. You can place up to 80 script on a map: they will executed parallelly. Almost 100 scripting command: text writing, messaging, sound handlig, everything you need.

Built-in battle system

Maker3D has built in HP / MP / Item / Magic / Attack / Block based, turn-based traditional JRPG battle system. You can add up to 4 hero and 4 enemy to the current battle. You can handle the battle system easilly from the script-system. Running a battle will not even break the other running scripts on the map. Add your heroes, monsters to the battle system, and enjoy the battle with the epic battlecamera system.

Loading and saving

Game created with Maker3D offers loading and saving ability, wich restores your characters, variables, and items. It even saves a screen dump, wich is associated to the save slots.

WYSIWYG

What you see is what you get. You can just try your map in Maker3D immediately, and return to the map edition. Maker3D has debugging ability: watch your variables, frame per second rate.

Save executable

Maker3D can export an executable from your game. Your exported game can be easilly shared with your friends or on the internet. Your exported game is LOGO-FREE. Its not necessarry to install your game on the users machine, its enough to be copyed. No external runtime packages, and no other horror.

Modern 3D graphics

Maker3D got modern 3D graphics, with real time lighting and real shadowing. Particles, anti-aliasing, motion-blur, glow, gamma... Everything, you need. Maker3D is the ONLY usable 3d rpg creator software. This is the only existing software wich offers the simplycity of the old 2d rpgmakers and the magic of real 3d.

Ha I was just watching this video on youtube it looks quite decent though there wasn't much visual backup to the text.

I'm not sure if you're the creator or not but personally I think because this is commercial software it needs to be presented in a more suiting light before I'd consider this. The screens shown are well, simply screen dumps, the Easy script/event editing looks a tad confusing and cramped together, it may just be me but I prefer a layout that I can navigate and identify things separately.

Not knocking this but if it was free then I'd expect there to be certain aspects that are not perfect, however with a price tag of £50 then there shouldn't really be missing content or presentation.

Is this the one from three years ago by the way?

Hi!

Yes, i am the creator.
Sorry for my bad english, but i not fully understand you, but i try to answer.
The program GUI, script editor, and almost the whole program is created to this like/simple, becouse i asked a lot of maker-users, and from almost everything, i made a small vote, so the layout is based on vote.

This is new software, i have complitely rewritten it (i have started developing this in 2010).

I don't trust paypal for various reasons, been scammed to many times with ebay. You should offer directer Credit card options as most of not all merchant scripts have that.

The engine itself looks pretty decent, but I won't say much until I see more.

I give you much credit for your programming expertise. Based on the demo, though, this software has too many missing features to really catch on at this point. I played with the demo for about an hour and here are my impressions:

1) No experience points or level gaining? No way to view character stats outside of combat? (at least, I tried every key on my keyboard).
2.) No equipment or usable items (like health potions) as far as I can tell.
3.) Very few monster models (unless the full software comes with more)
4.) CAMERA. Ugh. No manual control and it's at a bad angle, angle is too high and zoomed in, player can't see what they are walking towards. Also in the editor you can't zoom out very far, which makes placing large objects like buildings difficult.

I guess some of this stuff might be scripted in somehow but it's kind of basic for an RPG Maker to have these features?

I am kinda disapointed, I've always wanted a 3D maker (like the PlayStation 2 RPG Maker 2 & 3) on the PC, but this just doesn't have the features to make a full-fledged RPG. Unless the full software has this, and it's only missing from the demo?

if these features were added I would certainly consider purchasing the software. This has potential and could make you some money if polished and features added, I just don't think it's there yet. Sorry:(

Maker3D supports scriptable camera modes also.

You have right! Maker3D has no team handling (except the built in folowing system and the battle system) this means, this features must be coded with hand, if somebody wants them. (yes, it does have)

I added only the most-most-most important features, adding the features you have mentioned, would cause Maker3D-s development time brutally (3d, hand coded gui, etc...), and would not return my pain in money.

But dont worry, even if the users must work a bit harder with it, it rox tongue.gif
(yes, it does have everything now)

-Multithreaded texture browsing
-Sprite commands was broken, fixed
-Added PNG handling (for now 24 bit only)
-key_anim command caused crash if recived bad keyframe, fixed
-Texture garbage collection: smaller memory req.
-The system sometomes rotated things while nobody asked it to do like that, fixed.
-New command: MODELL_RAW_ANGLE, A, B, G, modell_id
-New command: QUESTION myvar, "background.jpg", "Answeer1", "Answeer2", "Answeer3", "Answeer4"
-Maker3D and runtime windows is resizeable now
-Mouse wheel caused flickering lists at the list end. Fixed.
-In the TELEPORT menu, mouse wheel was not worked. Fixed.
-IF/ENDIF/WHILE/etc commands showed wrong syntax in the cells. Fixed.
-Negative number decoding was broken

The Program looks really cool thumbsup.gif , I'm downloading the Demo version of the program, but, I have a little cuestion, is possible create the resources for the game?, I mean, I know that is possible create the character, but, is possible that I can create my own resources for the character, like the cloths, the pants, the hair....things like that?

I have to say this looks like a lot of fun to use, I like how it looks, it reminds me of something I would play on my PSP. I really can't say much more about it as I have to wait an hour and a half for it to download.

Edit: I lied it's 2 hours and 45 minutes now.

Edit 2: I'm getting sad, it's 4 hours now.

I tried this and it ran terribly slow, is there a way to fix this? A different version perhaps?

You can see the machine requiretments for the maker and the exported game an the webpage. I dont think it will be faster.

The game exported with maker can run playable with very weak machines also, if graphics effects are being disabled.

But the detail of Maker canot be adjusted, it always runs on max, this need to see everything in correct graphics. Maker requires the folowing middle class graphics cards: GeForce 9800 or Radeon HD2900, a 2 ghz+ CPU (INTEL core, AMD phenom, VIA nano 3000). Below this configuration, Maker maybee will not run very smoothly. Maker will also NOT run smoothly on any Intel graphics card. Maybee with the last intel cpu integrated graphics unit, maker will be run usabe, however, i have not tryed it. Please run Maker on a middle-class computer.
