Footprints Sprite?, Looking for help... Options

So I was wondering if any of you had a sprite of only foot prints for RPG Maker VX? I'm trying to make it so that when the main character puts on a ring, he/she becomes invisible... and all you can see are their foot prints as they walk. I know there are foot prints under "Other" in the list of characters, but those don't move when your character moves... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!!

If you have footprints replace the character's sprite, wouldn't it make sense that the footprints remained wherever you have walked?
And that would also be confusing and likely cause a problem for players.
I'd recommend that you do a mostly-transparent sprite so that the player can still see the sprite, but so they know when they are invisible.
