Mobile Suit Gundam SEED: Nocturne of Galactic War Sign Ups/OOC, From Bloody Valentine to the War to Restore the Republic-GS/Star Wars Options

...Yeah, I have some game ideas that need completion, but this one takes the cake. It is a Gundam SEED/Star Wars crossover idea that I'm trying to work on with a friend, but I would like as much help on it as possible.

Basic Story: Year 70 of the Cosmic Era. Tensions were mounting between Earth and the ZAFT Organization. Due to the Bloody Valentine Tragedy, these tensions suddenly escalated into a full-scale war. It seemed a foregone conclusion that the Earth Forces, with their superior numbers, would be victorious. But these initial assessments proved to be false. Almost 11 months have passed since the war began with no end in sight.

Due to a secret treaty that the Lion of Orb, Uzumi Nara Athha, knew nothing about, the Earth Forces were able to build X Mobile Weapons (X being the amount of players that take characters that use Mobile Suits in the game from the GAT-X series' of Mobile Suits, including the original five G-Weapons), which ZAFT spies had found out about the day after the Battle of Kaohsiung was completed and a victory for ZAFT. Members of the Le Creuset team, consisting of Athrun Zala, Yzak Joule, Dearka Elsman, Nicol Amalfi, Saul Kessel (someone else's original character), Marvella Starr (a relative's original character), Taikobo Akihito (one of my original characters), and Rusty MacKenzie, among others, form a Swordbreaker Team to infiltrate the neutral territory Heliopolis (under control of the United Emirates of Orb) and capture the supposed 8 G-Weapons, only to later realize that intelligence was way off.

Meanwhile, future pilots of the other G-Weapons, namely Kira Yamato, Chris Dante (owned by the guy who made Saul Kessel), his sister Liz Dante (same guy made her), Katsuhiro Yamanashi (my guy and my creation) and Emiri Takahata (another creation of mine and Katsuhiro's love interest), are currently trying to attend class in the Heliopolis Technical College, when ZAFT attacks, causing Kira and the others (including characters that you make) to chase after Kato's guest, who turns out to be Cagalli Yula Athha, the Lion of Orb's daughter.

The story starts before the Battle of Heliopolis. In the meantime, I'm looking for at least 4 original characters from the site, but I'm not going to ask for the impossible here.

Rules: After a bit of deliberation, there's not going to be a D20 setup, that would confuse people too much. Besides, a friend of mine in real life told me it wasn't a good idea. Instead, it's going to have the standard Freeform rules, so don't worry too much on what's going to happen.

[Show/Hide] Character Template: Here's the template for the characters involved:

Name: Be realistic for your species and planet
Species: Human (Natural, Coordinator, Newtype), whatever else.
Planet: Earth, Coruscant, Bothawui, Cerea, et cetera.
Age: Keep within 14-40, please.
Birthday: What day of the year was your character born?
Sex: Obvious part.
Appearance: State whatever you wish about looks here.
Personality: Mention whatever would make your character's clock tick.
Family status: List each member and a bit about them. Say if alive or not.
Love Interest: Anyone they're in love with? Be specific.
Talents: State what they're good at doing.
Hobbies: What they love to do. Could be a talent, or not.
Personal History: Explain your character's life as much as you can.
Most Cherished Memory: What memory do they absolutely wish to keep?
Miscellaneous Info: Extra tidbits you wish to mention?

[Show/Hide] Mobile Suit Template: To find something that you want to make as your mobile suit, click on the link here for information on mobile suits from the Gundam Franchise, then use the following template to base it correctly:

Name: The name for your particular unit.
Model: {GINN/Gundam/GuAIZ/CGUE/BuCUE/LaGOWE/GOOhN/ZnO/Strike Dagger/Astray}
Weapons: The weapons on your Mobile Suit.
Armor: What metal is it made of? Does it have Phase Shift/Beam Phase Armor?
Transformation: Can it transform? If so, what can it transform into?
Special Features: Can it go at top speeds? Can it camouflage itself?
History: What history do you have with that suit of yours?
Pilot: Which character pilots it?
Notes: Anything else you wish to mention?

[Show/Hide] Ships/Mobile Armors/Starfighters: This is for all the people that want to create starships/mobile armors/starfighters of the sort that they feel is appropriate for their character. Here is a list of what I'm looking out of this:

Type: Is it a starship, a mobile armor, or a starfighter?
Passengers: How many people can fit inside at max? Even counts for military personnel.
Looks: What does it look like?
Purpose: What purpose does it have as a unit of it's kind? Is it a bomber? A fighter? A capital ship? What does it normally do?

Anyway, on a side note, I'm going to clear one thing up here: Each player can have up to 4 original characters of their own, and up to two pre-made characters (if you can pull off their personalities and such). Also, by pre-made, I mean characters from the show. Characters of exception include Flay Alster, who falls in love with a Coordinator of original status, and Rau Le Creuset, who does the same.

Hahaha, I was going to make / move a gundam seed rp over here also XD (Just wanted to re-draw them mobile suits...)

So from what I read so far, there is no ties to star wars?

And also from what I am reading this is a rp / fanfic in the sense that it is happening during the time period of the original gundam seed, am I correct? So is it tying into the original story line? Are we/they (the oc) going to die off / fade away so the story can take its original course?

Hell no to both things.

First off, my friend and I are working on the story as we speak, and the Battle of Orbit is where the story will diverge to more of a Star Wars thing.

Note that, no, the original story will not take over at any time whatsoever.

I actually would like the Star Wars thing to actually start as soon as possible, but that's not gonna happen for a while, sorry to disappoint.

Well Xamusel, the more i read the first post, the more questions it creates, which could possibly be keeping people from joining.

You have so many characters, who have been created by other people.

Are they going to roleplay here too?
Is this even meant to be a roleplay? or are you writing a story with friends?

You have no template.
It seems like you are more or less saying someone would have to be the guy "Rusty" Which, being told to be a character just gives off a bad vibe.


Also, if you are going with the original gundam seed intro more or less, Kira got in the gundam by force and spur of the moment, not choice, how would you manage to get a bunch of students, who are just that students, not soldiers, to jump into a bunch of gundams?


Lastly, by having so many of the original crew involved to some degree, it means that someone or some people will control them at some point. I personally have no problem with refrences or breif cameos, but to need them is something I HAAAATTTTEEEE. But i can deal with it.



Also, I don't tihnk there is a problem with bumping so long as its a bump and not a necro, you know?

To be honest, it's just too detailed for me. I watched a bit of Gundam when I was younger, but not enough to know any of this.
It just doesn't interest me.

There are only about 12-15 active roleplayers on this site, with an additional 5-10 that pop in from time to time.
The number of them that are familiar enough with Gundam to take an interest is, well, 2.
It's not that the idea is bad, it's just that the numbers are weighted against you.

Like this:

Power plant: Ultracompact Energy Battery
Propulsion: Back Verniers
Performance: maximum thruster acceleration 0.93 G; 180-degree turn time 1.5 seconds (1.1 seconds after magnetic coating upgrade); maximum ground running speed 165 km/h
Equipment and design features: sensors, range 5700 meters; re-entry coolant system; magnetic coated joints; Phase Shift Armor
Fixed armaments: 2 x 75mm CIWS, fire-linked, mounted in head; 2 x beam saber, stored in recharge racks in backpack, hand-carried in use

I have no idea at all what any of this means.

again, it's not the idea that's at fault. It's just too specific a concept for everyone to get in on.

Like you Xamusel, I consider the terms in the sign up easy to understand, howerever, you shouldn't need that much detail on your gundam, I suggest going with a simpler form.

Also, we finally see some Starwars tie ins, which to be honest, I have been dreading since I heard the idea. Mecha X Sci-fi Fantasy sounds good in concept, but when its Mech vs Sci-Fi Fantasy, it sounds like it will turn sour. For a cross to attract attention and be successful outside your common circle, I think it needs to work both ways, which it doesn't in this case. (Unless I am missing a key point, in which case, please inlighten me)

Alright, to answer questions:

1) I have no response from the guy that made the other characters (not counting Marvella Starr, who was made by my mom, and she doesn't have an account here), so for now, no he isn't.

2) The main characters (the characters that are from the Sol System) are friends (for the most part) by the time it reaches the start of the fourth movie, and the group from Heliopolis chases after Kira (who chases after Cagali) because he is their friend.

3) I put up a link to a Mecha site that would be a great help, though it would be beneficial for someone I know (GunTech) to better explain the weapons and other systems, or Omnial can do it (if he wants to).

4) I don't have the details for how it's to work yet, so bare with me here, okay?

Okay, I fixed up the sign-up sheet again, guys, so let's give it a try, alright?

Oh, something I forgot was the fact that you can determine what part of the conflict you can join under. That means that you can be a member of the Rebel Alliance, or an Imperial Soldier, or from the Earth system alligned with either the Earth Forces, ZAFT, or Orb.

Up to you who you're alligned with, and you can have up to 4 characters with one group, which means you can even have some in the opposing forces. It's up to you who you side with mainly, but you can't be having more than 4 on any side.

On a side note, the four characters a group thing doesn't apply to Canon Characters, meaning characters from the original series. You can control characters from each series, but only so long as you give a good reason why. Another thing about it is that you have to keep the characters in character, not make them out of character.

Anyway, I'll need all the people that I can get, and I hope that the sign-in sheet is a good one.
