By looking for a way to port my RPG Maker games for NDS, I came along this sweet tool. happy.gif

http://globoeil.fr/vgmds/

It's a freeware RPG Maker like maker that you can run on your Nintendo DS using a flashlinker (like m3 or R4 card).
The maker offers an action battle system and a demo game in Zelda style is included!

Though I couldn't find a way to get my pc made RPGM games to run on my DS.. anyone any (positive) information on that? wink.gif

Get ready to be "Rider kickin' warned" for bringing up R4-thing for NDS. Well, I think you're in a gray area for it though...

Oh hey, speaking of RM-ing on a DS can be great, oh my gawds, who knows someone might ask you to be on their game studio happy.gif

Nice tool. Could be useful.

But no, I don't think anybody has ported RM to NDS or GBA yet. I believe there are cases of psx ports, but I'm not positive on that either.

It's not even a grey area; considering the R4 itself is legal there is no problem.

This looks pretty cool; like the type of thing I'd use to jot down ideas on the go (if I ever took my DS with me, that is).

You need a device which allows homebrew/emulation, like the R4 they mentioned, and the proper SD card to store it on. it also requires a patcher based on what device you're using.

I agree, way too much hassle involved, but if you fancy RMing on the go, then I must say, I have seen the tool in use before, and it is actually pretty good. It's about the same as RPGM 2000.

This is... pretty cool.

Also, no "Legal gray area" here. The R4DS is completely legal. Running a homebrew game created with that maker is completely legal too. There's... really no question on that.

Either way, I'll have to look into it a bit more. I think it'd be fun to design something for a portable system. Portability just makes games so much more... -playable-.

I remember trying this before but I couldn't get it to run since it would freeze just after starting it. Might be because of my SD card but since I have a new one then I'll try giving this a go again eventually.

No patcher. Modern Slot-1 cards such as the R4 (Outdated Crap, get an M3 DS Real, Acekard 2, or Cyclo DS) have auto-patching.
Some of the firmwares will only run a homebrew if it's under a certain size- This may not work on the newer current cards.
