Hey. So I'm wondering if anyone can help me out here. I'm running RM2K3 on Windows 7 Home Premium. It's running with administrative access and is set for compatibility mode with Windows XP.
When I try to test the game I'm writing, it takes me to the title screen. Since I know that no events run at the title screen, I know there can't be a hidden infinite loop or autorun going on. And yet, I squirm my fingers about the arrowkeys, and the cursor goes nowhere. "New Game" remains highlighted. To make matters worse, none of the keys do anything, so I can't select the "New Game" option.
Interestingly, however, minimizing the game and then maximizing it again appears to provoke a response; it allows me to begin a new game. Once I have begun a new game, I discover my character refuses to move.
It's not simply limited to the game or even to the installation of RM2K3; I tried playing Yume Nikki with the same settings and had the same problem, despite never having had the problem before. Can anyone help me?
EDIT: Okay, so I probably should have checked more thoroughly for a similar topic before asking this. Sorry about that. Anyone else who's having the same problem, download and run a utility called kbdreset.exe. Apparently it's some stupid gamepad whatever mumbo jumbo.
