Thanks for the congrats, Knot, and glad you like the board. Kaz and X-M-O have put in a lot of time and effort trying to get things set up.... I doubt they ever sleep.
Sleep? What's that?
Welcome to the moderator staff, amerk. You've really done an excellent job as a staff member, but I knew that kaz would take you from me one day.

XMO- what is sleep??????
Cheers knot - thanks for the feedback.
Yes amerk I have been nagging XMO for ages ----I won!!
Do you need screenshots for a Project Showcase thread? It seems to be being enforced, despite the fact that it has been argued that a project can be under construction without having any screenshots.

Some time back I believe this was changed to be a requirement. Having screen shots shows that their is some development on the game, which helps to cut down on the spam as well as projects that do not go anywhere. It only requires 3 screenshots, which is a very small request.
Otherwise, if you have ideas in need of feedback but no actual game project yet, you can always post a topic in the Game Play area which discusses Level Design and Game Play Mechanics.

Yes, it shows there's been some development. The argument before though was detailed story and characters also shows some development.
So, if you need screenshots to have a thread, and you need a thread to recruit help. How does a project recruit a mapper exactly?

This new rpg maker site so good that we worried?? Whats so differnt about it? I would think we would be safe cause most ppl to lazy to start over on a new game site. But its good you guys trying to improve the site, i just think its a bit strange. I just dont think we losing alot of ppl to other sites...though I could be wrong...

I don't think it was just due to the "official" site, although I can see why we would want to stay competitive. A lot of it is just to give ourselves a new makeover based upon activity in recent months and trying to encourage members to be more active.

Not entirely sure where this discussion is going. Both our site and the VX site are owned by iEntry, although we both serve different purposes. We are called RPG RPG Revolution (also known as RRR) and we address all game engines, whereas VX focuses mainly on VX. In any case, the reason for these changes is not just because of competition, but competition does drive the need. We're also trying to focus more on gaming development than what we've done in the past, and be able to provide better assistance to game developers.
Edit: By new site, he meant Degica's official site at RPG Maker Web, not this site, as we, too, have been around for a long while.
As has been stated before - in other topics - it requires little effort and a bit of thought to get a topic into Project Showcase. This is the kind of topic we are encouraging rather than a random thread stating " I am making a game and I need mappers and spriters". In my previous post I mentioned that the answers in these topics are usually " show me more info and I might be interested"
Need mappers then get a rough outlline of the game with details then ask- okay you might not have screenshots as you cannot map - but at least it gives a better idea, In these cases we would not insist on screenshots for obvious reasons.
We are not losing members to the new forum - but everyone is in the middle of exams at the moment,

No one said anything about adding space in the Gallery for VX Ace submissions! So, of course leave it to me to remember (and you all know I'm forgetful, lol).
I've updated the Gallery with areas for VX Ace. =] If you find that an area should exist (but does not), then let me know so I can add it in there. ^^
(Also, if you see an area that should not exist, please let me know so I can remove it - I automatically added all of the same categories that existed in VX based on the assumption that the same resources can be made and used in VX Ace; I haven't used VX Ace so I don't know personally, so please let me know if that is the case with any categories I've created in the Gallery area.)
I've also updated the Gallery a bit and cleaned/reorganised some of the categories (they were a bit inconsistent in relation to each other).

Yes you did! =D (I'm actually still working on it, lol. Spelling and other errors that I've never noticed before because I don't often seek them out.) XD
Edit: I just realised there are some subcategories that don't exist for XP (like the animals are all combined with the regular character sprites, but in VX they are separated). I'm going to fix that and move the animals into a new subcategory so they are easier to locate (instead of going through pages of character tiles searching for them). =]
