*sigh* I know I've brought this problem up before and it (somehow) eventually resolved itself. I recently downloaded Rpgmaker VX and am currently working on a game with Rm2k3. When I go to playtest either gamemaker I only get a black screen. I have tried changing all the options and even have gone as far as uninstalling and redownloading the programs and defraging my computer, all to no avail. How can I fix this?

I don't know it fixed itself again... what i did to fix it (I think) is i turned off the title screen and then hit playtest. While the screen was black, I hit f12 and brought up the new game option and it started. From then on it worked fine, I could even upt the title screen back on. So I'm not sure what's wrong with it, I'm just glad it's working again.

Its a very strange problem indeed, I wonder if it would affect the game when you save it and someone else goes to play it on their pc, probably not but it may be worth testing out.
Have you ever tried to edit the exe file or anything like that?

nope, I try not to mess with stuff like that. I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to fix it if it went wrong.

lol, but you seem to get a problem you cant always fix anyway.
I have tried to think of what the answer could be for this strange problem, unfortunately, I came up with nothing, have you tried googling this question?
