Ive never used rpgmaker 2003, but ive had trouble w/ music in games before and a), u might need to convert the .mid into a MIDI file sequence; or b.), u might want to try opening the song in a music-editing program and copying + pasting the song sequence onto a blank song sheet. The rpg makers seem to have trouble w/ songs that have certain encryption/ copyrighting/ licensing properties.

I hope this helps?

Calm down, this is most likely a common side-effect that happens after playing a midi in windows media player. It's pretty easy to reverse. basically, in the advanced volume options on your computer, one of them will be turned all the way down. Just turn that one back up and you should be able to hear midi files again.
Note that you will have to do this nearly every time after playing a midi file with windows media player.
I hope this helps you out. I freaked when this first happened to me too.

And this is why I use Mp3's.
In the simplest terms I can think of, Sometimes PRGM2k3 doesn't reset your MIDI drivers. This means that if a song drops your volume, then all songs will have that dropped volume. It causes problems with poorly made MIDI (most good ones have a MIDI reset in the front of it.) If you want, you can send me the MIDI or even better, what you have on your project and I can get those MIDIs to have a Midi reset. If that don't work we can assume your computer hates MIDI tongue.gif.

to be honest, MIDI has been horribly ignored after WINXP. Even I moved to different Media to better my music.
Since then, I have noticed that Windows do not allow you to tap in thier full potential. You can download better stuff for MIDI but remember that you may get it to function well on your PC, someone's PC will not have your fixes. This is a shame because MIDI is the best way to have tons of music and not cost alot (a 5-minute MIDI may be 15-100KB while a similar Mp3 would be 6-7MB) As I said before, you can put Reset Options in the front of your MIDI and see if that works.
