As promised, here's the thread for the comic and...Well...The comic! Before I give you the goodies though, let me just explain how this works, for any who might not know. All of the information regarding this comic shall be put here, we won't have a separate thread for OOC or anything of the sort...Especially because, if we did, this thread would be just several and several posts made by me! The general idea of the comic is simple, i'll make images and send in some text to go along with them, showing what's going on with the story and what is around you, then you, the "Suggesters" as the group is usually called, shall do just that, suggest what should the character do next and the character shall follow your advice as we journey through this amazing adventure together. :3
Now, for the sake of keeping things organized, let's set down a few things, yes?
First, if you want to make a suggestion, be sure to do it in the following format:
==> Character A: Action
"==>" - Is a symbol to indicate that what is written on this line is your suggestion, a formality, mostly, don't worry too much about it.
"Character A" - We may possibly have more than one character to deal with at the same time, we're gonna start the comic with a single character so this isn't something you should worry about right now. But later on, if we start getting more characters in the story, please be sure to put this down so I can be sure of what character that suggestion is aimed at.
"Action" - In here goes what you want the character to do. Be sure to be objective and straight to the point with your suggestions, also, remember to take one step at a time, you're more than welcome to make up elaborate plans and whatnot, but don't suggest them all at once, not ICly, at least.
Q&A What if there are no suggestions? If there are no viable suggestions for me to follow (Either by no one posting any or by the ones posted being "too silly") I will simply skip the comic ahead a bit, basically just putting the character to wander around for a bit until something interesting happens.
What could be considered "too silly"? Please note that i'm not objecting that you try and have the characters do silly things just of it being funny, not at all, while we do have a plot to follow I will be more than glad to put in whatever comic relief or exaggeration you guys manage to come up with. There are restrictions to that rule, of course...Such as, by example, attempting to do something that would defy the laws of reality within the world or insiting on doing nonsensical things and letting the plot stall, those kinds of suggestions will be ignored, not that I would not like to do them, but we need to keep the show going!
How do you pick what suggestion you will follow? I'll always try to go for the ones that push the plot forward first, though I may opt to follow others if I find that they would be interesting or very funny things to do, as long as they don't break the silly rule above.
How often will this be updated? There's no way for me to define a proper specific schedule for it, seeing as i'll be working on this whenever I get free time. I should be able to update it weekly without much issue, but if, for whatever reason, I start running low on time to do this, I will still continue to post, at the very least, the text to progress the story forward. Unless of course, people prefer to wait for me to have time again before progressing, i'm fine with either, really.
Well, if there are any further questions or doubts, be sure to adress me, I will be more than glad to reply!
Now, without further ado, I present you all...Luna! Keep in mind that we also will have the occasional GIFs in here and they can get quite heavy, so I suggest waiting a bit to be sure all the images loaded properly before you start reading.
There was a great city in the continent of Mond, filled with magic and wonder, it's name was Celeraska. This great and magnificent city and it's citizens had been blessed by the magic of the Moon. Celeraska's citizens, usually reffered to as Lunars by the common folk, were all gifted with the ability to wield and control the elements of nature and bend the laws of reality to their will, they did so thanks to the magical powers given to them by the moon which were channeled out of their bodies with the help of special catalysts called "Magicaestus". With magic at their command, the Lunars were both feared and respected by all of the people in the world, none would dare oppose them, none would dare stand up against someone who could destroy you with a snap of their fingers.
As time passed, however, Celeraska found itself with a growing need...Their gift was now slowly corruption them, driving them to want more and more, Celeraska, once a peaceful and small little town, quickly started expanding and expanding, until it became a gigantic empire. It all happened very fast, it didn't take even a whole month for the Lunars to easily take over the whole continent Mond, which wasn't called Mond then, actually, that was a name given by the Lunars themselves.
No one dared to oppose the Lunars charge, those who did were wiped out of the way in a matter of seconds, nothing could defend anyone against the Lunar's powerful magics. Their armies were swift and ruthless, a band of exactly one hundred warriors, all fueled by the moon's power, they stomped their way past any all that dared to resist.
Most, if not all positions of power were occupied by Lunars after this, the few normal humans who had any weight to their voice would always have it thanks a Lunar backing them up. It also wasn't uncommon to hear of normal men and women that married Lunar regents and then ruled the land beside their "betrothed."
Regardless, once the Lunars controlled all of Mond, they were sad to see that their desire for power and dominance had not yet been sated. No matter how much they abused their powers, no matter how much higher than all others they put themselves, their desires would still be left unfulfilled...It wouldn't take long until they then started to desire each other's fortune.
And then the great Full Moon War started...And ended. All of them wielding terrible and all mighty powers, the Lunars turned the great city of Celeraska into a desolate battlefield in the short period of a single night. The buildings were all lit on fire, explosions and bursts of magical energy ringed out from all around the capital as the full moon shined down on the city. All that the Lunars had taken so long to build, was all destroyed by none other than themselves in a few brief moments...That day, all of the Lunars were in Celeraska, that day, all of the Lunars murdered and were murdered. The destruction caused by their magic was so great, that it polluted the skies and the clouds...From that day forth, a mysterious dark energy, commonly reffered to as "miasma" was now imbued in the rain, not only it would eventually corrode clothes if left unnatended, it was also rather poisonous, especially if it was dropped on someone's skin. From that day forth, everyone started wearing special cloaks once they went outside, to protect themselves from the rain in case it started.
And so it was that...
In a single night, the whole city of Celeraska and the Lunars were decimated, reduced to ashes by their own magical powers. The city was reduced to ruins and all of the magical knowledge that the Lunars possessed was lost in the sands of time. The continent of Mond, now seeing itself free from it's tyrants, started organizing a new government for itself, one where, in theory, all would have a chance of speaking and being heard, regardless of who they were. This new system consisted of an assembly, made up by a representative for each of the groups in the land, one would represent the merchants, another would represent the military, one would represent tailors and another would represent the blacksmiths...There were even representants for the bums, though they were usually asked to take showers before the assembly started.
But there was one problem...
There was one piece of land in Mond, which did not adhere to the new system of Assemblies, despite the requests from the rest of the continent, this land was the kingdom of Orwyn, ruled over by King Malkath and his wife, the last Lunar, Queen Cynthia. The Queen was a curious Lunar, she had hair as white as the moon itself and was the only Lunar to not participate in the Full Moon War. While all others wantedfight each other to assure their dominance, Cynthia simply decided to stay at her castle, replying that she had no desire to argue for more than she already had. In fact, after Celeraska fell and the rest of the continent proposed the Assemblies, Cynthia gladly agreed! However, King Malkath did not and quickly convinced his wife to change her stance on the subject...King Malkath had been born on a poor family in Orwyn and lived his early days scrapping by for survival.
That was until, one day, he accidentally happened upon young Lady Cynthia, a most unexpected and sudden meeting, truly, in the form of two youngsters bumping against each other in the middle of the street...No one is quite sure how the full story went, but Cynthia and Malkath fell in love and married...Many say that Malkath never really loved the Queen, rather, he had just manipulated her in order to drag himself up the social pyramid. Not that there is really any way to be sure whether this accusation is true or not anymore.
Because, after all...
The inhabitants of Orwyn, infuriated by the opportunity that they were being denied, rebelled against the royal family. Led by a young military captain of the Orwyn Guard, they stormed their way past the castle gates, no one tried to stop, instead, all of the people that they walked by joined them instead. By the time they arrived at the throne room, only two people dared to stand in their way, the King and the Queen themselves. The Queen tried to defuse the situation, but to no avail, it was too late for this and the time for talk was long past, despite being a powerful Lunar, there was nothing that Cynthia could do protect herself or her husband against the gigantic mob that formed against them, they were slain and their blood oozed out of their corpses as the people of Orwyn commemorated their freedom.
There was one thing to be settled down, however...For you see, the King and Queen had a daughter, a young girl, whose existance had been kept hidden away. The young military captain, now named a hero, was the one to discover her existance...But, what was he to do? Certainly he couldn't murder a baby! He couldn't keep her to himself either, of course, that would raise many questions among the people and it's not like he knew how to take care of children anyways! One way or another, however, the child needed somewhere to live, someone to take care of her...But sadly, there was no one to take care of you. Yes, yes you, you are this orphan child, a young girl, left in the hands of the very same man who killed your parents.
And that's where you come in...
You are currently in the attic room of the Angel's Hall, the local orphanage in Orwyn and today is a very special day! You were put here EXACTLY thirteen years ago! And since no one, not even yourself, really know when is your birthday exactly, everyone's going to act as if it was today! But, that's not the reason why this day is special, oh no! Today is the day you're going to get out of this orphanage.
Not that it was bad, mind you, but you long to leave this place and seek out your destiny in the great outdoors! You woke up about an hour ago and already got properly dressed in your usual clothes, being sure to put your trustworthy fur cloak over yourself to keep yourself safe and warm from that nasty miasma rain...Not that you're really in danger of getting caught by it since you're indoors, but you know you're gonna be spending lots of time outdoors in the near future, so you figured you'd already get it on. Better safe than sorry!
In your thirteen years here, you haven't really made any close friends...I mean, you talk and play games with all of the other orphans, of course, but you haven't really opened up about your past to anyone. No one in this orphanage but yourself knows abotu your origins, except for the orphanage's keeper, Kaila. You always catch her staring at you from time to time, she probably worries that you'll someday to something dangerous, though she was never direct to you about it. In fact, Kaila has always been very nice and gentle with you, though you do feel that is simply her way of trying to keep you in check.
One way or another, back to the point, today is the day you escape from this place! Soon you will...Do...Something...You don't really know exactly what yet, but you're sure it'll be amazing! You're sure that, once you're done, everyone knows your name...! ...Uh...Which reminds me, what's your name again?

==> Juno Menae
==> Juno, elaborate on your elaborate self-liberation strategy
If you're worried about getting enough suggestions, you could always mirror this on the MSPA forums. It's not uncommon for adventures to be cross posted across forums (in fact it sometimes creates some playful competition). Good luck on your endeavors.
Warning!this post may contain sarcasm, please re-read it in a funny voice The old spoiler was out of control, it had to be stopped.
Ah yes, there we go, how could you even forget? Your name is Juno Menae...Or at least, that's the name you've gotten used to being called by, you're somewhat sure you had some other name while you were officialy a princess, but that was so long ago that you barely remember it. As previously stated, today is your thirteenth "birthday", as in, thirteen years since you were delivered to this orphanage. It might be because of your royal origins, but people consider you to be a BIT OF A SNOB though not enough to be annoying or anything, you just have an ego that matches your abilities and background, after all. Due to the lunar blood flowing through your veins you're naturally SHORT TEMPERED and POWER HUNGRY, but also very PERSISTENT and DEDICATED when you manage to set your mind to things.
You are HIGHLY KENOPHOBIC and SLIGHTLY HYDROPHOBIC for some reason, you're not sure where these phobias came from, seeing as you've never been somewhere where there were either huge empty spaces or large quantities of water, though the idea of being underwater positively freaks you out a lot and is enough to make you shiver. You REALLY LIKE RODENTS in general, from rabbits to rats, in fact, there was one time when you wanted to keep a rat you found in the orphanage as your pet, but sadly the orphanage's keeper, Kaila, did not allow you to do so and instead poisoned the poor thing. You were devastated for weeks, but eventually got over it.
==>Juno, elaborate on your elaborate self-liberation strategy
You comply with the voices in your head and decide to explain your plan out loud for yourself one more time! It's genius cannot be denied and should be repeated at whatever chance it gets, after all! First things first, they are organizing your "birthday" party downstairs and you've been told to wait here in your room until it was all ready, also, Kaila said that she had a very special gift for you, you have no idea of what it could be, seeing as you didn't receive any gifts of any sort on your other birthdays. (Well, except for clothes, but those aren't really gifts now, are they?) So you intend to, first and foremost, find out what this gift is and, possibly, obtain it as soon as possible. Secondly, you'll need the key that will unlock the front door to the orphanage, Kaila usually keeps that one on her belt at all times, so you'll have to take the key from her. Once you got the key, you'll just have to make a run for it for the outside right after lunch time, which is usually the time where the front gates of the orphanage are left open, as to invite potential parents to come and visit the orphanage.
It's a genius plan, you know for sure...Admittedly, it's a bit bland and doesn't really specify on a lot of things, but you're pretty sure you'll be able to just wing it as you go...Probably...Hopefully.

You put your sneak face on and proceed downstairs and out of your room, arriving at the main hall of the orphanage. Much to your luck, it would seem that the other children are each one busy with their own endeavors and that the hall is pretty much empty, well, except for Kayla, who seems to still be glancing around and inspecting, she's probably making sure that everything is all right. At the moment, she's glaring with a somewhat disheartened look at the "3" placed on top of your birthday cake by the table, it does look a bit distorted, you get the feeling that she sculpted that with wax herself...She also probably baked the cake herself as well, now that you think about it...But enough about that! From where you are, you can see the key hanging on her waist and your present in the table behind her, sadly, you don't think you'd be able to reach either without being spotted. And Kayla would just reprimand you and send you back to your room if she spotted you, so the sneaking around would end up being kind of pointless.

=> Juno, check the other rooms and see what everyone else is up to, if you can make it out of the main hall without being spotted that is. The present and key can wait until later.
Sure you can make it out of here without being spotted, you're the masterful master of stealth, no one will see you coming, no one will you see you leaving, no one will see you stealing their pants and putting it on their heads, that's how good you are. In fact, you're so good at sneaking you are basically invisible, you're honestly so invisible you can't even find yourself sometimes...I'm rambling...You prepare to sneak away masterfully.
You fail to sneak away masterfully. You also now realize that from this moment forth you're not going to try sneaking in your boots ever again, in fact, screw sneaking, after this you're never gonna attempt sneaking around again, screw that, it's for pansies, this conclusion you have reached has nothing to do with the fact you just realized you're not really that much of a sneaky type.
That didn't really go that well...Though...You don't particularly think you made that much noise...Well, aside from your flailing, your possible pain sounds and the sound of your face smacking against the wooden floor...I mean, there's a chance that Kayla didn't hear any of that, right?

=> Juno, you're not a stealthy stealth person, you're a con artist! Pretend to be in more pain than you are, she'll let her guard down and show you some sympathy maybe... And maybe, just maybe, you could grab that key if she tries to help you.
=> Kayla, you are not going to stand for any of this tomfoolery.

And maybe, just maybe, you could grab that key if she tries to help you. + => Juno, you're pretty darn embaressed, especially infront of the mean looking Kaila. So embaressed that you decide to blame Kaila for falling over!
Kayla: Well, you had it coming, that's what you get for trying to sneak around like th-... Kayla: What...What are you doing? Stop it, you're not gonna make me feel sorry for you, this is your own fault.
Kayla: No, seriously, cut it out... Kayla: Look, I get it you're anxious that it's your birthday and all but you can't just-
Kayla: Oh by the moon...
With an annoyed huff, Kayla proceeds to grab your present and pretty much slam it against you, she says that this should be enough to keep your curiosity sated and then immediately sends you back to your room...Well, this isn't exactly how you had planned things to go but, regardless...VICTORY.
You are pushed back to your room and, once inside, a loud click announces that the door out has been locked...You could probably still get out if you make use of your amazing and newly discovered "con-artist skills"...But then again, you now have your birthday present, safely stashed away in your inventory, that you could go ahead and open, admittedly, you're pretty curious as to what could be inside...Also, let's not forget the fact that this is possibly the last time you might ever be in this room before you set off in your adventure towards...Somewhere...It might be a good idea to have a look around, gather in some memories.
Quality today is a little below the usual, i've been having to do some university assignments and I tried to get some of that out of the way before I went to tackle this, as such, my arm's gotten pretty tired. I tried to make up for it by adding some nice shading though, hope you guys like it.
=> Juno, open the present and see what's inside if only for the sole reason that carrying whatever is inside is likely to be easier to carry than a giant box.
That is, indeed, a fair point. You take out the blue ribbon that is keeping the gift shut and then quickly flip the box's lid open, it takes you a few moments to process what your gift is, but when you do, you let out a short 'whoah' and become stunned for a few seconds...Your present is...
You are now a young dashing rebel soldier. Having teamed up with your fellow rebels you have stormed Orwyn castle and have so far been rather succesful in the assault, your bigger numbers easily plowed through the castle's guards and King Malkath currently lays dead by your feet. You still need to go after Queen Cynthia but she seems to have retreated to her tower at the highest point in the castle. You're all good to go finish this rebellion and, be it for better or worse, kill the last living Lunar. But, first things first, what's your name again? We need something to write down on the history books, you see.

MSPA==>Torvin Mundas + RRR => "My name is Havok Hailstorm, killing the last Lunar will be my duty!"
That...Did not just happen. Your real name is Havok Mundas, your occupation is that of a guardsman at Orwyn, though, at the moment, you have taken upon the occupation of a rebel. You were born and raised in Orwyn as a lower-class downtown citizen, where you constantly dealt with thugs and thieves living all around you and constantly bothering you and your family, as you matured, you vowed to somehow find a way to help the honest folk of your neighborhood against the constant bullying and abuse they suffered around those parts.
In your teen years, you and some other friends of yours built up a sort of "night watch" to keep an eye out for thieves and muggers which attacked the downtown citizens once the lights had gone down, once you turned 18, you enlisted as a guard and you have been working your ass out since then. Four years after having enlisted and you were promoted to Captain of the Guard, criminality has dropped considerably ever since you've taken over too. Personality-wise, people say that you are VERY AGRESSIVE and SHORT-TEMPERED, but none of them question that you're JUST and FAIR, never raising your hand against anyone who does not deserve it.
You are ACHLUOPHOBIC (Fear of Darkness) and BATHMOPHOBIC (Fear of stairs or steep slopes.) due to some childhood incidents which you don't like to talk about involving walking downstairs in the middle of the night. You are a CAT LOVER, you happen to have three cats living with you which you care for with all of your love and a- *ahem* Anyways...Lunars! You heard about what happened at Celeraska, a shame it had to come to that, but considering their nature, you suppose it was kind of expected that this would happen eventually. You're fully aware that killing Queen Cynthia is your duty, but you're not really sure how you FEEL about that...I mean, after all, she hasn't really done anything wrong...I mean, the one who most abused their power was King Malkath, and he's kind of dead now...Still...
Not really that much to examine...Just a bunch of dead guards...One thing is for the certain though, you've seen enough killing for one day. You're definetly going to try and take the Queen alive, if possible...I mean, no real need to kill her anyways...Right? She's the last lunar too, which means it'd be a shame if her whole species went extinct...Not to mention she's also awfully quite powerful, which then raises the question as to why you thought that facing her alone was a good idea. Oh well, can't back up now, can we?
MSPA>Hold on, first things first, how are you getting up there? Aren't you afraid of stairs?
...Even though that is a fair point, it really shouldn't be that much of a problem...I mean, yeah, you do have a problem regarding stairs, but it's not really something to worry about unless they're very-
You sense a chill crawling it's way up your spine. You're going to have to climb this very...Veeeery slowly...I mean, look at how high up it goes...One single misstep and you'll rapidly find yourself rolling your way back down. A voice in the back of your head momentarily reminds you to be careful about the stairs. You brush it aside. After a moment of silence, you gulp down thin air and steel yourself to face your phobia.
==>Just walk up damn stairs already
Okay. That was the second most boring and horrifying thing you've ever done in your life, in fact, it was so boring and horrifying that the author isn't even going to draw it. Who's the author, you ask? Well, that's not important right now. One way or another, you finally made your way up to the Queen's Room, after having spent roughly half an hour climbing those damn stairs, you only expect the Queen hasn't already jumped off her window out of boredom or something. Since that staircase seems to be the only way in and out of this room, you're pretty much sure she should still be in here. Hopefully you two can actually have a nice relaxing talk, without having to resort to violence or anything of the sort.
Hey, look, a vase.
That...Could've gone better...Could've gone worse too. I mean, she could have thrown some kind of dangerous spell at you...That would've been a lot worse...You just woke up from your short vase-induced unconsciousness and quickly find yourself completely restrained, as you try to move your arms and legs, you find them to be paralyzed, as if they have been turned to stone or something...Huh, maybe she did cast a spell on you after all. You also, as you may have noticed, cannot see anything, she seems to have put some kind of blindfold on top of your eyes. This is...Rather uncomfortable. You're almost sure you're not in actual darkness but this whole "unable to see anything but black" thing is really starting to freak you out. You shuffle around desperately, trying to free yourself, but all you manage to do is let out a few grunts and grumbles due to your effort. You hear a voice.
???: Ah, you're finally awake. Took your time, didn't you? I apologize for the restraints, I can't have you trying to stab me or anything while i'm talking now, can I? Havok: Queen Cynthia, is that you? Cynthia: Yes. I'm afraid I don't know YOUR name though...Judging by the blood on you, i'm guessing that my husband is dead...Hmm...A shame, really. Enough about that though, you came here after me on your own...That's pretty stupid, if you ask me...Tell me, what were you hoping to accomplish? Havok: I was hoping to talk with you, actually. Cynthia: Oh, you were? Well, seems we're on the same line then...Still, I bet talking is an opportunity my husband would have wished for.
This post has been edited by Nicsp: Mar 23 2013, 01:49 PM
Havok: He should have thought about the consequences of his actions, then...He was abusing his power and had to be dealt with. From the perspective of the majority he was a- Cynthia: Oh, stop it. I know, I know...What do you take me for? A fool? With his behaviour I was already expecting that this day would come, sooner or later. Havok: You...Knew there was going to be a rebellion...Yet did nothing to stop it? Cynthia: No, I simply found a way to adapt to it...And that's where you're gonna come in. Havok: What do you want, exactly? And where are we? Cynthia: Oh, we haven't moved from my room, actually. I put the blindfold up mostly for...Safety reasons. I suppose I can take it off now though.
Havok: Wh-...I didn't know you had a- Cynthia: Shush. I have a proposition for you, Mr. Mundas. So I want you to listen carefully...
Sorry, where were we again? I think you were opening your birthday present, correct?
A glove...Wait...What? When you opened the box, you originally thought it was some kind of magical gem or something, but that was just the top part of this...Strange glove thing...You've no idea what's up with. There's not even another glove to make a pair. Is this some sort of bad joke? You slip your hand into it and quickly find that it's almost as if the glove contracted itself to fit exactly around your hand...Okay, so it may be more than just some crappy glove. But you still have no idea what you're supposed to do with it.
