Retro's Bust Sets, Just some edits I have done with the original bust. Options

Hello I am Retrograve and for the past two weeks I have been working on some edits using Enterbrains original designs and the nude base templates located here! Bare in mind I am only and amateur and I still have a lot to learn. I originally started making banners, titles and signatures for people and most of it is still experimental.

Some of the brushes I used for emblems and tattoos can be found here, here and here.. The brush sets I used when editing these bust were the Norse Symbol, Arcane Symbol and Floral Primitive brushes. Thank you for your time and consideration I still have plenty of more characters to make!

Ah I love char art!!!! Ok well like you said your new, I havent actually tried using the templates but they look really great, if anything id use them for anything but vx/ace. I really like the different armor styles you have made here, they are fresh and new, do you have the char sprites to go with them? Thats always the hard part lol, most ppl just focus on the faces so it's good your actually doing the whole thing.

Thank you very much! At the moment I don't have the sprite sets for the characters but as soon as I make another elf I'll work on sprites for each of the characters as well as emotional facesets. It may require a lot of patience but I intend to make a wide array of characters and matching sprites and thanks again!

Thats the key, having char sprites to go with that cool char art, you can make a cool char pic but trying to get a sprite to look like it is such a pain! I always struggle with it, but if you can pull it off then your set to go. You got some nice work just keep building it up.

Thank you so much! It's going to be some hard work but as long as I keep out it and be patient who knows!? I might even surprise myself! Thank you so much for the support lato22. I might pull and all nighter and try to put some matching sprites together, I'm gonna need a lot of coffee I think haha!

Thats how I have done ALL my best work, usually traditional art that i scan and make into game art. I go and get a triple shot of expresso in my coffee and go crazy on the art! Of course for health reasons I wont say you should do this, its just what works for me. Now I dont think that would work to well for char spriting since that is a slow process no matter what. Would be nice if you could use the xp char maker but they dont have on for vx/ace yet. I always hated the way they did those char sprites, they way to short!


Just take it nice and slow on those char sprites, Ive only seen a few ppl that can custom them good, there jerks but its a skill thats worth it weight in gold.

Yeah your exactly right! Its going to be a very long process but as long as I take my time and don't rush into it. I've almost finished my current bust I've been working on for the elves and once that is done I can fully commit to making the matching sprites for these characters.

No not yet but it is something I have considered. That way there is a more broader use for them rather then just for vx/ace. I have only really started to get into it now though.

nice one do you sprite if so can you make one for the blacked haired human boy with 2 colored eyes I mean I know lato already told you what the key was but even so I could probably make some sprites for ya if you can't keep up the good work though.

I've actually made some sprites so far, but I've been pretty sick lately I'm just finishing the last two guys in the red.

Okay so this is what I have so far. If there are any problems with these sprites I'll fix them up in no time. Included are the first four characters in brown and yellow followed by some bonus characters plus the first two red characters. I'll fix everything up when I get a few more things done. Including the sprites on the first post and what not etc. I really couldn't add detail due to the sprites being so small, but after I've got some basic sprites done I'll go back and edit them. Credits go to Enterbrain.

Oh yeah! Hahaha! No problem I can touch that up now but yeah anyone can use these just a simple credit if anyone is using these a link or whatever. I still have a lot of work to do making face sets and what not, it's just finding the time. I have a long weekend so I should be able to work on some projects.
