The letters correspond to the efficacy of elements or the success rate of applying statuses. Setting a specific class to A for ATK up means that if ATK up is cast on them, the chance that the status will apply is 100%.

There is a question mark in the corner of the database window, click on it and then click on the thing you don't understand. It will usually give you the answer.

It decides how effect certain states are to the class. Meaning casting an attack up buff on whoever has A will have more success rate. Other than that, the letters are like grades you get in school. A is the best, F is the worst. You know.

Quoting myself from a previous topic:

Element table efficiency

A = 200%
B = 150%
C = 100%
D = 50%
E = 0%
F = -100% (absorption)

State table efficiency

A = 100%
B = 80%
C = 60% (default)
D = 40%
E = 20%
F = 0% (immunity)

Efficiencies and resistances allow different skills to vary in their usages.

If made use of; your skills with have different advantages and disadvantages against different enemies. The player will then have a good reason to interact differently against different enemies that you set up.

As you can see, using those features to your advantage will help make your battles more enjoyable; by the player having to test out different skills to win.

There is also a default state resistance bug. You can use Yanfly's 'Core Fixes and Upgrades' script to fix it.

For future reference; pressing F1, while highlighting your mouse over any section of the database, should explain to you exactly what that section supposedly does.

the only problem with using that bug-fix script, is its only compatible with the Yanfly Engine Melody.
To get the default big-fix, look in the New RMVX FAQ, i have it in there.
