All I want to do is to have a mass of events, preferably in a 3x3 square to chase the player without breaking formation.

I want that mass of events to chase and hover above above the player. The middle portion would be the chaser, and the rest would be the area of effect.
Middle part would do the most damage, outer parts would do half. I can sort of do the later half of it, where each section applies different damage, but I can't make the mass of events move or chase the player down.

Yes... may you explain more, I am having trouble understanding exactly what you want. Are you wanting the mass of events to be the same type of monster, different group, or what. When you are talking about hovering above the player are they flock of birds or something of that sort?

I want the middle portion to be the event that chases the player, and the events around it to be the area of effect. if the player is in the middle, he will lose more HP than if he is in the other areas.
It's like a spaceship that is chasing and hovering over the player. It stops, lights up, and shooters a laser. The player has roll to get out of the spaceship's line of fire. I can do the laser part myself, but I can't get the events to
stay in formation. Basically, I want that square of events to be 1 giant event block that chases the player.

Using only 1 event to chase and lock onto the player always seems to miss 90% of the time, that's why I need tho make a large mass of events so that it doesn't miss.
The mass of events would be the same monster, it's just that the middle part will be the monster sprite while the others will be the area of effect.

When the laser fires, if the player is in the middle, they will lose 50hp, where as if they stand on the white part, they would lose only 25hp.
I hope this is clear enough. If you need more examples, I'll look around.

I see what you are trying to do and I done many processes and nothing seem to be going into the right direction. I tried using variables and switches and combined them with move routes. I couldn't get the events to move together at all, the did move but they didn't keep formation. I hope the best of luck if there is a way of doing this.
