Question about Mugen, Possible? Options

So I was recently led to the page of "Card Sagas War", a Mugen game that looks really fun. While watching it, before realizing it was Mugen, I thought 'wow. wouldn't it be cool if you could put this kind of fighting in RPG Maker?'

Well once finding out it was on the Mugen engine, a question came to me. is it possible in the Mugen engine, to make maps side-scrolling and make a story out of it? Of course with a side-scroller, the story wouldn't be too amazing, but I still think the fighting will make some RPGs more fun.

Now i'm 90% sure this isn't possible, or is VERY VERY hard, but do you think there's a way to script in a battle system like Mugen's into an RPG Maker?

Yeah it's possible. There's something similar in RMXP (like Tales of Symphonia, which is close enough to Mugen)
Haven't seen it for VX though.

If you want to make a fighting game use fighter maker, you can make unique stories for each character etc etc etc, you cant do all that in mugen. :V
