Hey everyone!

Just thought I'd post a few of my short stories here for people to read and comment on. As some of you may know, I'm a published author, so I don't often post my works in here due to the fact that you can't sell First Rights on a piece that's already been posted in a forum (which makes publication near impossible), but here are a few pieces that have been published for a while which the rights have reverted on.

I figured that, while I share all of my games with the community, I very rarely share my writing. There are a few people out there who've PMed me a few times saying they enjoyed the writing in my games, so I decided to share some of my written words.

I mainly write horror and sci-fi/speculative fiction (my novel, Sun Bleached Winter - coming out later this year from Damnation Books is a psychological thriller/post apocalyptic piece) though I very occasionally write humour and fantasy.

Click on the links to read them. I'm not allowed to actually post them here on RRR, but they're all freely available at their respective publishers' websites.

Enjoy!

Short Stories and Flash Fiction

The Eternal's Curse

A short tale of Gothic Horror, recounting the adventures of Edmund Pelkington and Chester Ledwitch as they search for a missing friend in the Eastern European barony of Lamordia and become the victims of the sinister Baron Van-Richten. This was originally published in Imagine Literary Journal in 2011 and reprinted in Static Movement in 2012.

If Every Day were Monday

A short story written for the John Marsden Young Writer€™s Prize 2010. An Orwellian story of the dangers of conformity, set in a metaphorical future where similarity is all that matters and individuality is sin. This went to print in Imagine Literary Journal in 2010. This is the oldest story here -- it's pretty rusty by current standards, so beware.

The Lonely Man

A piece of horror flash fiction about a haunted motel. It€™s inspired by Stephen King, and it probably shows. If you like ghosts, or people getting killed by ghosts, you might enjoy it. This was first published on Flashes In The Dark and later reprinted in Linguistic Erosion. An audio version of it may be released by Psuedopod soon.

Good Morning Camelot with Gary Goblin..

A humourous short story that parodies both the fantasy genre and modern society. Its humour is inspired by the likes of Monty Python and the Shrek films. This appeared in Danse Macabre and the Eunoia Review.

(This link leads to Danse Macabre #57€˜s contents page; select €œFictions€ and then €œGood Morning€€ to read the story)
