It's easy to make a moving animation within a map. Follow these easy steps!

1) Make a common event and name it torch. Put the following as the code in the event.

2) Pick an animation that uses the first part of the character on Light 1. Set the event to Parallel and have it activate when Light is activated.
3) On the map make the switch activate.
4) On the torch character sheet set it to parallel also and for the event set it to call common event Light.
5) That's it. Your animation should now work.

A very basic (and short) tutorial. To make a bit more useful you may want to go into how the animations work, like the frames in the character set and how they should be arranged. There are a lot of room for improvement!

o.o this is pretty, actually very.. basic. Anybody who opens the RMXP should be able to learn this themself within 30 minutes, but I can't say it was a waste of time, because even though not many people might benefit from this, its a very kind contribution.

It's basically for the new people but I thought it may help them. I'll probably make a new new one soon but until then this is good.

It is basic, but it would've been helpful to me when I was starting out. Basically a controlled stop animation.

THANK YOU, so much. It's been 2+ years since I used RPG Maker 2000, so I was quite lost when it came to actually animating anything.. This was incredibly helpful, because I downloaded alot of "animation" sprites, but couldn't figure out how to get them to work right; (I didn't have the "wait" in there, nor did have the loop.. >.<!) Thanks for this.
