Abstract- Princess Lyanda seeks out the legendary hero Melvin for fame, fortune and just a general good time. She has a hard time finding help because of a new game craze called Wallet Monsters.
Genre- Fantasy (But with random real/modern world references)
Platform- RMVX


Story
15 years prior to the story, the Great Hero Melvin defeated the evil Daemon King and brought peace to all the kingdoms. Sadly he disappeared shortly after, leaving many people sad that they could not have a parade. The Heroine, Princess Lyanda, decides that Princess Academy is far too boring and wants to seek adventure. She finds this is problematic as the world has been assailed by a new game craze called Wallet Monsters. It is so popular that no work gets done and the economy is in decline, even her personal allowance! She decides that finding the Great Hero Melvin will be a great time killer and will also let her get filthy, stinking rich.

Setting
The world of Faeladis is split into seven major kingdoms, each with an important contribution to the world. This world seems like a fairly happy place, despite the occasional monster attacks. Each of the locations is influenced by a real world country and I hope this displays when playing the game.

Characters
Name: Lyanda Yandaral
Age: 14
Gender: Female
Primary Job: Princess
Personality: Lyanda is judgmental and a bit snooty, she is every bit the spoiled princess. Her one quirk is that she gets bored easily and leaves on adventures at the slightest whim. She has a dark side to her that she brings about when she doesn't get her way. She expects things to go right for her, but does not object to working hard to make it happen.
Biography: Lyanda is the princess of a kingdom of Yandaral. She is a bit tomboyish and spoiled, demanding things to go her way no matter the cost. She has a dark side that desires to rule the world, but she keeps this a secret from everyone. Yandaral was once a very rich kingdom and as such Lyanda grew very spoiled. The current economic decline has her up in arms at her low allowance, causing her to embark on her journey in the first place.

Name: Silvir Pettyflower
Age: 18(So she says)
Gender: Female
Primary Job: Fairy
Personality: Silvir is hard working and serious, she believes that nothing good can come of royalty and that all princess' are spoiled brats. She displays this attitude whenever she deals with Lyanda. She enjoys being outside and going on adventures, that is part of the reason she joins up with Lyanda in the first place.
Biography: Silvir is a member of the FCPA, the Fae Creatures Protection Agency. It is a company that hires out fae creatures to protect royalty whenever they wander off alone. Other jobs include rescuing princess' or finding heroes to do just that. Silvir enjoys working for this company and holds the highest record for number of princess' safely returned home.

Name: Twilight Sprinkle
Age: 14
Gender: Female
Primary Job: Librarian(Pony)
Personality: Twilight Sprinkle likes to be the center of attention, she will do anything she can to get attention. Her real name is Maybell but she didn't think this stood out enough and changed it to Twilight Sprinkle. She hated her job as a librarian and decided to join Lyanda on her quest just for the purpose of getting fame. Her personality for being the center of attention constantly has her bumping heads with Lyanda.
Biography: Twilight Sprinkle seems like a normal horse to anyone who sees her. The one thing that made her stand out was the fact that she was able to talk. She quickly discovered that she could read and learned many things. King Myndaril was so impressed with her that he made her head pony of the Royal Myndaril Library. Twilight Sprinkle hated this and wanted to stand out, she believes she is destined to be the biggest star in the night sky. She sees an opportunity to escape and fulfill this dream with Lyanda and joins her party.

Features
A few features are different from standard RTP as stated in the credits above. I am using Yanfly's subclass system so jobs and learn-able skills are in. I am also using Yanfly's battle stats so the game is very low numbers. The maximum for any stat is only 200, while hit points and mp only go up to 999. I believe this will add a nice feel to the game.
The game also includes a quest log, along with day/night by Rafidelis, which effects when certain quests can be found or completed. The game is quirky and fun, but that does not mean it's not a full fledged rpg with a good story.

Known Issues
-Lags a bit on the world map, less then five seconds, but being looked into regardless.
-Hospital displays the incorrect number of 'cleansed' this does not actually effect the game and is being looked into.

I don't think "Fairy" and "Princess" are valid genders, you may want to replace that word with "Race:" instead.
Other than that, the story sounds pretty good, but the protagonist is definitely does not have the feeling of a... well... a protagonist.

So "Wallet Monsters" is just a video game right? That's what it seems like.

The motivation of money is well-placed though. happy.gif

I put those as genders intentionally as a bit of humor. They are both female. Yes Wallet Monsters is a video game inside a video game. I am trying hard to give her the feel of an anti-anti-hero and see where it goes from there, so far her personality has developed well. Thank you for your feedback it's much appreciated!

Just wanted to let everyone know I was alive and still working on this. Made some good progress, added in a few new classes and several new maps. The story is starting to get nailed down into something cohesive and coherent and all the other co words out there. Enjoy a few screen shots and tell me what you think so far.

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted anything on this project. I realize with the lack of comments that many people probably don't even know it exists, that's ok, once I have the demo out you will all know my POWER! Ahem....sorry.

Anyways, I've been really busy with life and just general lack of inspiration lately so there has been little progress shown. Though the influx of great games coming out has really inspired me to start working again, good job all you game makers! While I have only made a slight progress in the actual physical portion of the game, I have gotten a lot of the world itself created and thought that I would post this in here, I'll try to keep it in a good format, but sadly it does not involve any screen shots, at the moment, so I hope you'll actually read through it and be interested and inspired and such.

The following section reveals some base details about the kingdoms and a few towns in Princess Dreams.

Kingdom: Myndaril
Size: Greater Kingdom
Primary Export: Stone Masonry
Cultural Inspiration: German
Unique Feature: Melvin Festival
Biography: Myndaril is the home of the Great Hero Melvin who was responsible for the defeat of the Daemon King many years ago. It has grown in size and popularity from a small kingdom that focused on stonework to a major activity center and cultural authority because of it's mass tourism. It currently does not have a princess to attend the academy as the king has been far to busy, leading his people in the golden age, to find a wife.

Kingdom: Yandaral
Size: Greater Kingdom
Primary Export: Fish
Cultural Inspiration: English
Unique Feature: Seafood Harvest
Biography: The hometown of Lyanda and once the greatest of the seven major kingdoms. It has since deteriorated in the past few years and has slowly lost it's power. This has cut into the budget for Lyanda's allowance and has raised her ire enough to cause her sudden interest in adventuring. The kingdom is still popular because of it's Fish Harvest which is a yearly gathering from all the kingdoms and a week long party is had, but this seems to be the only draw to the kingdom anymore.

Kingdom: Haven
Size: Greater Kingdom
Primary Export: Fruit
Cultural Inspiration: Egyptian
Unique Feature: Casino
Biography: Haven is a paradise of kingdoms it is located in the tropical region of the world and as such it has plentiful natural resources. The fruit said to come from haven can leave one in a fit of passion for days. The lack of need in the kingdom has caused them to open a casino that would entertain their subjects. This casino had the doubled effect of increasing tourism and bringing in large sums of money, making Haven the third wealthiest of the seven greater kingdoms.

Kingdom: Nothrend
Size: Greater Kingdom
Primary Export: Iron
Cultural Inspiration: Russian
Unique Feature: The Great Smithy
Biography: Nothrend is a kingdom located in the frozen west, a wasteland thought to be uninhabitable. The kingdom was discovered by an ambitious explorer who wanted to find what secrets the west held. The people were hard and unfriendly, but they were strong and hardy. The Fallen Empire tried to expand and bring Nothrend into it's fold, but was crushed by the weather and Nothrend's armies. It was instrumental in the dissolving of the Fallen Empire and the rise of the seven Greater Kingdoms. It's iron is known to be nigh unbreakable and of the highest quality.

Kingdom: Draniel
Size: Greater Kingdom
Primary Export: Dragon Scale
Cultural Inspiration: French
Unique Feature: The Dragon Dance
Biography: Draniel is currently the wealthiest and largest of the seven great kingdoms. It was once second place to Landaral, but the sudden shift in the economy caused Draniel to surpass Landaral. It is known around the world as the kingdom that tamed dragons. The dragon riders have caused great envy and a bit of paranoia among the other kingdoms, but as of yet Draniel has not attempted to take over any other kingdoms. It's Dragon Dance is a festival where many of the dragon riders put on a wonderful show and is always packed full of tourist from around the world.

Kingdom: Curella
Size: Greater Kingdom
Primary Export: Medicine
Cultural Inspiration: Mayan
Unique Feature: College of Medicine
Biography: Curella is located in a land abundant in healing herbs and other plants ideal for making medicine. This quickly led to them becoming the primary authority in the healing arts. Many young doctors attend the College of Medicine in Curella to learn about healing. Curella does not have a large standing army, but it knows it will not be attacked due to the fact that only the scholars of Curella know how to cultivate most of the medicine.

Kingdom: Tzuhi
Size: Greater Kingdom
Primary Export: Bamboo
Cultural Inspiration: Asian(Chinese and Japanese mostly)
Unique Feature: Tourism
Biography: Tzuhi is the center of Tourism for the entire world, they have turned every national treasure and wonder sight into a tourism spot to bring in money. Original just a small collection of towns located on the southern tip of the world, Tzuhi focused primarly on bamboo export to survive. A sudden interest in the culture of Tzuhi caused the current ruler to open up the entire kingdom for tourism, making it become the last of the seven great kingdoms to be called such.

bump, added a nice long demo, should have very little bugs as I had a few people test it and tested it myself. I hope you all enjoy, and I hope to have the full game added soon enough.

Edit: Also, do I need to do anything to get this moved to long demos? The Demo is about 5 hours long if you do the side quests. I think that counts as Long Demo.

Found a few small errors with some skills being way over powered, despite the amount intended. I found the solution and am working on a fix, will update it with the next demo release, just wanted to point out that the issue is noted.

So, I am reworking this entire mapping system with parallax maps and in doing so, I've decided that I would also like to rework the art style for enemies and maybe even sprites. Sadly I lack the talent to do this and with reworking all my maps, I don't have the time to learn at the moment.

This leads me to start recruiting for my game.

I am looking for a spriter and a combat artist for enemies, or someone who can do both.
It is a front view battle system for combat and the game, as you should see, is in RMVX.

I'm not expecting someone to drop everything and constantly work on the game, as it's still quite a bit from finished. It is an ambitious project and has quite a bit to go.

If you'd like to help out, please PM me or even post here, I'll respond as quickly as possible.
